We are at support but the overall market structure is in a downtrend. One must be prepared for prices to go either way and I always trade level to level and play the probabilities game. If we do get to those level i've mentioned. I will be back to send my regards ;-)

@flyhub888 Yes, most institutions gave TP above RM10 with the exception of Maybank which gave Tenaga only RM9.30. Refer to this article: https://www.theedgemarkets.com/article/analysts-mixed-tnbs-re-progress

@jeffchan1901 You should do it "everytime" and not "sometimes" hahah. Think about it. How do the big boys fill a big sell order? You guess it right, you need a big buy order. Keep pumping the retails with good news, hopium and everyone starts fomo buying into resistance AKA their sell order. Dump it down and everyone get rekt. We are in a dynamic market, buying and holding does not work as well as it used to be anymore.

there is no good for institutions if the share price drop..

Posted by everest29029 > 2022-04-17 09:27 | Report Abuse

Contrary, EPF will intensify the selling of more shares to fund 10k special withdrawals since the foreign funds have flowed into Bursa this would be the best time to sell more.

Apparently epf is buying. And I think its at the bottom. If it’s for long term tenaga is the best to keep!!!

Shorts are still happening , we cannot see the buy or sell differences in the report but you can observe the buy sell orders activity . The shortist will work hand in hand with EPF since they know when they plan to buy/selll since a year back. Since EPF is signaling to buy, shorties will encourage more volume of sellers to come in via rumours and try to keep the price down. It is game of average of sellling high and buy low for shorties , and big funds to sell high and pick up low

Yes lah...

We buy because of Dividend. It does not matter if the share go down. Down mean an opportunity to collect. TNB will not go bankrupt as long people need electricity...

"While valuations are attractive and environmental, social and corporate governance concerns seemingly largely priced in, we think the stock is unlikely to rerate significantly in the near term due to lingering concerns over the ICPT mechanism," it said in a note on Tuesday.

The ICPT mechanism allows TNB to reflect changes — either increase or reduction — in fuel and other generation-related costs in the electricity tariff every six months in the form of rebate or surcharge.

According to Maybank IB, TNB, via its wholly-owned subsidiary, Vantage RE Ltd, had acquired 97.3MW of UK's onshore wind farms for £145.9 million from funds advised by Capital Dynamics, an independent asset management firm.

"The acquired portfolio comprises 11 UK sites developed under either the Feed-in Tariff or Renewable Obligation Certificate subsidy regimes, thus providing some degree of revenue stability.

"The acquisition raises Vantage's wind capacity from 433MW to 530MW, and TNB's gross RE capacity from 3,479MW to 3,576MW," it said.

As such, Maybank IB has maintained a "hold" recommendation for TNB, with an unchanged target price (TP) of RM9.30.

Meanwhile, Public Investment Bank (Public IB) has retained its "outperform" call for the counter, with an unchanged discounted cash flow-derived TP of RM12.42.

"TNB's acquisition of a stake in the UK onshore wind portfolio is consistent with the group's strategy to expand its RE portfolio.

"We understand that post-completion of the new assets, Vantage's total operational RE capacity will grow by 23%, which comes as no surprise as TNB already indicated in its recent result briefing that it was looking at a potential acquisition of a new asset in the UK by the second quarter of 2022," it said in a note on Tuesday.
