Good Morning,

EPF Kept Up Buying YTL & YTL Power On Bad News. What Does It Mean?

1) EPF Is GOVT FUND. As such EPF is privy to the Future Plans of Those in Authority. Will YTL & YTL Power benefit from Govt Projects yet to be awarded? Most probably yes.

2) Many shares in KLSE Have Gone Up Except YTP Group. Example CMSB Shot up from RM2.20 to over RM10.00. Takaful also Shot Up from RM1.50 to over RM11.00.
One Fine Day YTL & YTL Power's turn will come.

3) In Share Market the trick is to Buy Low & Sell High. But it is easier said that done. Being human we fear when others are fearful & we are often caught away & swept off our feet by the euphoria of the market. It is more likely that we shun prices that weakened like YTLP & chase the popular stocks of the day or the hour.

To fail is so easy & to succeed we must grit our teeth & buy where others fear to tread.

4) YTL Power is Very Defensive like a Bond.
As such it might move slowly unlike high flying shares. So you will sleep well.

5) As Insiders have strong faith they have garnered the majority of YTL Power Wb. So they are more concerned for Company's performance as they have more to gain or lose than share holders.

6) Calvin's Strategy

Buy some & include them as defensive stocks in your portfolio. Since EPF is buying on weakness. So buy some on weakness. This is a stock safe for averaging down.

7) When You Finally Make Money. Think of helping other unfortunate people.

Recently, YTLP under several trouble
1. YTLP maiden oil shale power plant project in Jordan may face ISIL risk.....

2. Even after YTLP pull out from 4A and hoping for open tender in order to regain these 1000 gas fire IPP, but it may not materialize as YTLP wish. TNB union now change tone from insist open tender to abort all IPP as all power plant should reserve for TNB as sole taker. In additional, SIPP control by Johor Sultan may not want to pull itself out for open tender, may insist to participate in 4A an d may opt to collaborate with TNB as sole partner.

3. TNB union highlight that YTLP exiting pasir Gudang IPP site belong to TNB. Therefore, YTLP unlikely able to grant any extension beyond its its expire life next year.

"The agreement will be signed between the Jordanian government and an international Estonian-Malaysian consortium within two weeks, and it's the first of its kind in the region," the minister said.

Jordan has over 40 billion tons of oil shale in reserves and the 2.4-billion-U.S. dollar power plant will produce electricity through direct oil shale burning, the minister said.

The 470-megawatts power plant, which is expected to be operational in early 2018, will be built by Estonia's Eesti Energia, Malaysia's YTL Power International and Near East Investments of Jordan.

The Kingdom now imports about 96 percent of its energy at a cost of 2.8 billion dollars annually, or 21 percent of its gross domestic product. It plans to increase self-produced energy to 60 percent of its consumption by 2020.

The more pressing issue here is, if TNB decided to accept 4A, team together with SIPP, instead to pull out allowing open tender, then YTLP will be indeed a loser.....hope to scarified by pulling out and thinking can grab back later in open tender will no materialize at all.

Steveooikp, YTLP is definitely on a downtrend as per its graph movement todate. But if it crosses $1.49 then can consider a buy and coupled with a volume of 5ml in 1st 2 hours of trading. my 2cts

Pak, if you check the total volume done on 27 Jun 2014 it is only 3,103,000 shares ! How can it be that ASK sold 15m on that day ??? I also checked that there was no married deal done too ! It makes me wonder how and who in Bursa will verify these kinds of submissions ..... what do you think ?

I think the effect of ASB cessation as a SSH will be depressing for YTLP share price ..... they have another 337 m shares presumably to continue to sell (without further need to inform Bursa). Can't be they still want to keep these 337m shares as a non substantial shareholder right ? I am afraid my target of 140 (unadjusted price, if adjusted for entitlements etc is 133 target) may be coming sooner rather than later with/without any more gunfire from all those sore losers in the tendering/direct warding of power tracks !

Dear Friends,

I am sorry to see ASB selling. The equation has changed to uncertainty for YTL Group now. EPF came to support shares for ASB to escape. This has been an observed pattern by Calvin Tan Research.

EPF sells down a share. Then ASB scooped it up cheaply. And EPF will bid up a share for ASB to take profit.

So EPF buying could mean deliverance for ASB.

Do your own due diligence.

Calvintaneng, does the maths add up ? EPF only buy 500,000 shares but ASB allegedly sells 15,000,000 shares .... plus /minus a few days for notification you go and add and subtract up the big picture puzzle... it does not seem to tally between these two EPF and ASB. By the way, I have personally ceased trying to make head or tail of what our EPF is doing ! EPF disposed a huge chunk (around 230m shares) in the recent run up from Mar 13 to Nov 13; during this period SBB was in full force mopping up. I am not sure whether the same can be seen down the road; I hope so too ! In short, I don't think it is a good idea to blindly follow EPF (buy or sell). Caveat emptor !

Actually I am more concerned with ABS strategy than EPF. How can ASB sell so much shares when EPF is only buying 500 lots.

See next few days whether PNB show up, then we'll know.
