@martinbartesque, I think the reason why WB didn't follow up that much is due to many people still not aware that final conversion price for WB is 1.35. Many people thinks is 1.56.

Two possibilities EPF dumping. 1) Cash out to pay i-sinar 2) Dump to friendly parties before Sunway price surge even higher, this can be seen from Sunway price keep moving up as EPF keep dumping for past two months.

It's reason (1), EPF needs some cash for I-Sinar Payout. Look at the remaining EPF interest after disposal, 9.68% bro.

the M40 aka M50 plus B40 just forms less than 10% of EPF Total Funds.

more than 90% of EPF funds are from multi-millionaires who dun withdraw it out. This data is from EPF themselves

There is another reason for EPF selling which I really cannot tell you coz thats really Top Secret.

Dividend for Mother share could be around 4 cents but for PA maybe about 2.6 cents since it is suppose to distribute semi annually.

Since final conversion price for WB is 1.35. If Sunway is 1.90. Without premium, WB has a minimum value of 0.55.

@Fortheemprah, That's why I raised my doubt that day if there's is still dividend payout for the mother share since we have this preference shares. So, 1.5cents is still better than nothing.

@catalan, I became more optimistic of Sunway after looking at the larger picture. The QR is actually good and Sunway is lauded for their ESG performance. This two ingredients should be a good selling point for a defensive stock.

IPO for SMC definitely is super boost. The current negotiation with strategic investor for Sunway Hospital Group is at PE 60. If the deal successful, it will instantly bag in profit of few billions

Sunway’s surprise accumulation of IJM stake sparks takeover speculation. On a

Potential bringing in Strategic investor for SHG and speculate take over IJM are the catalyst. Take over IJM could be possible since now Sunway wholly-owned subsidiary Fortuna Gambia is now the 5th largest and the largest non statutory bodies shareholder for IJM

@invest icon. IJM is huge, market cap, revenue, all comparable to Sunway. Perhaps a mutually-agreed merger more plausible. However, looking at the Sunway daily transactions, I think Cheah family has given instructions to create resistance at 1.7. If it goes up, good, but do not let it fall below 1.7. Just speculating.

Price was around 1.50 early March, and already up 15% to the highest of 1.76 recently. In fact, the price now is higher than before Covid. Does the economy already fully recovered from the pandemic? I doubt so. I am still holding on to Sunway for long term, but honestly I do not see the price moving up any much higher in near term taking into consideration of the uptrend recently. And it will require some sort of good news/catalyst to bring up the share price even higher.

@invest icon, no doubt is good company, but for the price to move up this fast and higher than pre-covid time, it will not happen this soon. This pandemic did hit them hard.

@catalan, try to hold a bit longer to wait for more positive announcements. This company have steady management and well managed for years, collect it while still low. During market downtime, hold something steady like sunway still can sleep sound. Unlike Macpie, BJland and BJcorp, you know that this cannot treat seriously. Invest shares just like falling in love with a man/woman, you know who can marry and who can just be GF or BF,haha
