Stumbling block at 29 sen !

Leesk, are you sure you are in the right thread because
1) the dividend yield for JTiasa in nothing to shout about
2) this is a plantation / timber counter , not steel/property/construction counter
3) it is very unlikely that the company will go into PN17
2013-09-11 09:41 | Report Abuse
The price is moving surely but quietly and slowly.

bsnpng, I share the same thoughts as you. Nevertheless appreciate kcchongnz's kind advice. To me I will just store JTiasa in the freezer and hope for the best, though it means some of my running capital is being tied down.

And if my memory holds, I think the top 3 stocks you mentioned are LBS WA, Puncak WB and WTK which means you are 100% spot on at this moment as these 3 counters bring in the most profit (in absolute value).

Haha, right ! If actually someone were to spend 100K and follow your selections, they would have made 8% return in about 10 days ! Good for you, OTB !
2013-09-10 15:49 | Report Abuse
Huh 9466! how come you are responding to oldman and myself ?
2013-09-10 15:44 | Report Abuse
Agree OTB. What is the purpose of coming out with such a long story, I wonder ?
2013-09-10 15:33 | Report Abuse
Despite all the long articles, the share is holding on well.

There's no right or wrong when it comes to selling, Some say let the profits run whilst some say there is no regret when taking profits no matter how much is it ! Ultimately it all depends on the individual.

55880955, you are indeed very confident that the price will go up ! All the best !

No one can predict the market. Just look at Kretam, it's up almost a ringgit in the last few months - on what basis ?
2013-09-10 14:56 | Report Abuse
Haha ! Just hope the stock one day will perform up to Mr. Koon's expectations ! Just lock them in the freezer !

bsnpgn, you and I am are almost in the same situation. My previous entry price was 3.22 and I also added some recently.

Wen Yau, Take note that this may not be a physical purchase in cash but a "stock pick" challenge in the forum.

Suggest people do their own study and analysis and not just listen or follow prices given by others. If these people can forecast the target prices, all of them would have been millionaires by now.
2013-09-09 09:26 | Report Abuse
hiddengem, it all depends on what school of thought you subscribe to as different people have different views of investment like
1) go read KYY's long write-up in Dali's blog
2) OTB has included this in his stock pick based on TA readings about a month ago
3) kcchongnx is not too keen on this stock based on FA and other reasons like cash flow etc
At the end of the day, you have to make your own decision and ascertain whether at this level the price is attractive, whether the upside gains outweigh the downside risks, how long you can hold on etc.

hiddengem, it's not that I can read your mind but I do know this is a common phenomenon amongst most retail players. But just some friendly advice from an elderly man :-
1) one should not fall in love with any stock as there is no guarantee that it will bring you profits when you enter the next time
2) of course if you are patient enough and wait for it to drop to a very low level, you can make some purchases and make a quick exit. But it all depends on luck
Having said that I have to agree with kcchongnz that based on its current financial standings, this is not a stock to invest.
2013-09-08 17:38 | Report Abuse
I guess this is what kcchongnxz needs to know. Basically he is a long term investor and thus is perplexed at how can a person made so much from Rimbunan Sawit. Your answer is clear - bought in huge volume and sold for a quick profit which is definitely considered as trading rather than investing.
2013-09-08 17:18 | Report Abuse
Of course no can can predict the market nad it would not be impossible for KFima to drop to 1.23. But then what is the basis and criteria to arrive at 1.23 so specifically ? why not 1.24 or 1.22 or 1.21 or even below 1.00 ?
Everyone can also hope or dream for Maybank to drop to 2.99, Genting to 2.88 and CIMB to 1.77 ! But under what circumstances !
2013-09-08 17:11 | Report Abuse
It's quite common for people to fall in love with some stocks which they have previously made heavy gains from these counters. Perhaps this is why hiddengem feels. Just my thoughts - I may be wrong.
2013-09-08 15:13 | Report Abuse
It will only move when everyone gives up hope on the counter. Just a matter of who is more patient and has more holding power !

bsngpg, I am in the same situation as you - still having some JTiasa in cold storage.

Haha, pigs can fly - good one. Nevertheless a lot of people who believe in KNM are having the same thinking that they can make money from China stocks listed here.

Yes, KW Tan has indeed been doing a wonderful job sharing all these articles with the members in the forum.
2013-09-07 17:03 | Report Abuse
KW Tan, may I suggest for the stock pick challenge for the 26 i3 members, on what basis will be the eventual winner be determined. I reckon the basis should be specifically laid out before the contest ends.
2013-09-07 16:16 | Report Abuse
KW Tan, I think you are mistaken. OTB actually has 3 portfolios namely
(1) one which have 10 selections made in late July / early August together with kcchongnz
(2) one which is organized by you for i3 members in which he has so far purchased 2 counters which are LBS WA and Puncak WA where trading is allowed.
(3) and the latest one which he picked 10 counters, similar to (1) above with 100K allocation where weighting is assigned to the different stocks. I reckon there will be no trades as he wants to know the final performance at the end of the year. (Am I right OTB ?)
Thus my earlier posting was made with reference to portfolios (1) and (3).
2013-09-07 13:24 | Report Abuse
His postings almost 100% on Air Asia. Wonder what's the connection ?
2013-09-07 11:05 | Report Abuse
OTB, if I am not mistaken this portfolio is a replica of your selections in KW Tan's stock pick challenge except that you gave allocated different weightages to the stocks.

i think the mother will be at least 33 sen for the warrant to have a "value' since 33 sen is the conversion price.
2013-09-06 15:01 | Report Abuse
Warrant A is a cheaper entry than WB when it comes to premium on conversion.
