sting79: Just heard rumour Vivocom is planning some consolidation exercise. Don't quite understand the 'market maker' you asked me to google. Historically, I just know the price will drop if the consolidation is going to takes place, so I decided to take profit first. Worry about other things later.
HighFive: thanks for the initiative, you can also read my own understanding above. Just another perspective to look at things.
Got another take on the consolidation/RI if it happens. It's a positive angle at least for me. Will share this view once consolidation news is out, if it happens. For now, just ride along while watching grass grow and wait for announcement of the 2018 $25 millions RI proceeds.
Consoildate 10 to 1. No more heavy shares volume. Soon will be 566M shares. More healthy in term of no. of shares. New CEO really changing the bad side of the company. All useless management being kicked out, and deliver good results with future expansion plan.
the consolidation announcement just came out. simple example for those who do not understand what it means.
10 shares will become 1 share 100 shares will become 10 shares 1000 shares will become 100 shares
of course, the stock price will also be multiplied by 10x.
though the total number of shares will be significantly reduced to 566M shares, many instances have proven that most of these consolidation exercises in the past has resulted in BIG LOSSES EXCEEDING 50% WITHIN 6 TO 9 MONTHS POST CONSOLIDATION. This is mainly because "the share price now is deemed to be expensive as it is no longer a penny stock" and "it has more ROOM TO DROP".
Some of these companies who have implemented the consolidation exercise and taken a hit on their share price
PUC Before consolidation 28c, 4 month low post consolidation 7c, LOSS 75% SCOMIES Before consolidation 50c, 5 month low post consolidation 4c, LOSS 92% ICON Before consolidation 25c, 7 month low post consolidation 4c, LOSS 84%
Something to ponder about if you are one of those who subscribed to the 2018 RI: - If you think the price will go down another round, sell the RI portion (cost is 0.025). At least protect this part of the capital at a profit.
As the saying goes 'The tiger cannot change its stripe as this is his nature'.
Opinion is that the same gang will never change their modus operandi and you can never win against the hungry tiger bare-handed in his own cage. Don't forget there may be another round of RI fund raising in the game plan later. The capital that you protected earlier can then be used to subscribe another round to average down at a great discount, but don't use the profit here!
- If you think the price will go up for whatever reason, just hold till death do you part haha.
RATIONALE AND JUSTIFICATIONS FOR THE PROPOSED SHARE CONSOLIDATION As at the LPD, Vivocom has a total of 5,664,539,071 issued Shares, and the last trading price was closed at RM0.045 per Share. In view of the large Share base and low trading price, the Proposed Share Consolidation is expected to enhance the Company’s Share capital structure by consolidating the existing Vivocom Shares, which will result in a reduction in the number of Shares available in the market.
From financial statement perspective, the Proposed Share Consolidation is expected to increase net asset (“NA”) per share of Vivocom together with its subsidiaries (“Vivocom Group” or the “Group”) without affecting the total market value of Shares and Share capital, and shareholders’ shareholding structure of the Company. Premised on the above, the Board considers the Proposed Share Consolidation is in the best interest of the Company.
Can anyone help to explain in detail the part "Proposed Share Consolidation is expected to increase net asset (“NA”) per share of Vivocom together with its subsidiaries"?
This part makes more sense "Premised on the above, the Board considers the Proposed Share Consolidation is in the best interest of the Company", but they forget to end this statement with (at the expense of minority shareholders) haha..
10 to 1 consolidate could be good. Lesser NOSH and higher price. Lesser manipulator, as owning large volume will be 10X more costly. Price no necessary going lower after consolidate , especially if continuous report of positive QR . Tele comunications and constructions are good prospect sector now.
When a share consolidation exercise does not benefit the minority shareholders, then it's just another financial trick or tool via the marketplace.
If company want to have honest good old way to push up the price, doing nothing but just consistently performing with good quarter results is already more than enough.
Best is many still believe the stock market is a free marketplace, but the occult says differently.
Using consolidation to increase NA per share, what a tool.
When it drops back to super penny price after consolidation/RI, people would say this share is having a super big discount to its NA! But in fact it's because of past consolidation!!
silversurfer96: kindly imagine yourself buying ICON before consolidation and calculate the amount you need to fork out for its rights issue. Then you'll understand why it's a very risky action for the buyer.
And if you don't subscribe the RI that time, I think you'll not be here in this forum to chat.
Ang_Li_Hann, they're haters mah ,how to admit Vivo is improving. Actually nobody know what is happening in Vivo. But one thing that is too obvious is who is still holding. Cheers.
cnsolidtion is only in 4th quarter, theres still 1 more quarterly result to come out. they not gonna simply let the price drop before consolidation,in fact they might maintain or rise it a bit first prior to it, then depending on the company's performance, subsequently after that may rise or fall. those still holding wil hav a better chance to sell after all the panic sellers are gone
start by looking for shares that are undervalued, positive growth, positive revenue, diversify into main board, dividend paying shares, don't concentrate everything into penny counters, look at trends, and also need some luck
Mlab negative QR for 2017,2018,2019,2020..and more expensive. Vivo fell from Positive QR in mid 2018 to negative but recover within 5 QR to positive on end 2019 till now.
WOW. Sellers very aggressive today after yesterday's consolidation announcement. Sell Q at 3.5c also increased to more than 100M shares now. Looks like the selling is not over yet. Will be expecting the share price to dropped to 2.5c if this continues. Definitely NOT looking good.
