The management failed to seize the opportunity to promote touchandgo and monopoly the business like Alibaba pay in China..,
Now, hv to compete with Grab and etc...
Losing war with money bleeding promotion...
Adding on the huge debt from defaulter..

Singapore loan only accounted for 8% of total CIMB loan. CIMB has 369 billion loan. 500 mil is nothing. Not even 1%

So there will be an impairment of Rm500m? if yes, It will wipe out 50% of last Q PBT.
I think this is just the beginning. More loan default coming soon? Not mistaken Maybank and Cimb have higher loan exposure to O&G industry.

CIMB group Holding is believed to be the malaysian bank that has significant exposure to troubled oil trader hin leong trading which owes almost USD4$ billion to more than 20 banks including DBS Group Holding, HSBC holdings, and Standard Charetered. Market talk has it that CIMB's exposure to Hin Leong is to the tune of USD120 million to USD130 Million. This will mean an exposure of more than RM500 million in its loan book. when contacted on the matter CIMBsaid " CIMB does not disclose or comment on specific names or clients"
