KUALA LUMPUR (April 23): CGS-CIMB Securities Sdn Bhd said today it expects Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) to cut the overnight policy rate (OPR) by another 75 basis points (bps) in anticipation of a contraction in the country’s economy in 2020 and subdued inflation during the year.

CGS-CIMB economists Michelle Chia and Lim Yee Ping wrote in a note that the nation’s monetary policy is likely to become more accommodative and CGS-CIMB expects BNM to reduce the OPR by 50bps this May, followed by a further 25bps cut in the second half of 2020.

PE = 7.42



Clearly, share CIMB is too undervalued, which trigger Smart and big Money to trigger their accumulation exercise before tomorrow which short selling is no longer allowed.

Smart and big Money taking advantage of some news earlier by bring it down their prices and accumulate during pullback at at RM3.41 with total volume of 115,244. This causing the stock to be a few percentage cheaper than its previous prices which have value to hit (T1) RM3.81 and (T2) RM5 before they can start their distribution exercise.


So, what will you do if you working for big money ?
What they have been trained if they see a stock with undervalue radar?
Why do you see pattern of Big Money such as EPF started accumulating this stock for the past few days?

Many people knows it is good price, also not only CIMB. Infact many stocks are undervalued now, the main point now is the timing to enter.

Nature Cycle of progress,

1) temporarily foreign investment are either speculative or struggling with cash flow so they won't come in within these short period of time so boosting the price up will not be so soon
2) as for local big shots only manage to temporarily hold the price from falling too much.
3) even after after MCO lifted, the real struggle starts where some SME will starts to struggle for their recovery and more bankruptcy will reveal if they can't make it.
So the earliest time we should go in is after the lockdown also it might still be uncertain move but we are no GOD to predict the best timing to enter, it totally depends on our judgement.

Just going thru funds flow in and out of Bursa with respect to 3 categories of investors, i.e Foreign, Retail, and local Institutions

For the past many weeks, Foreign funds has been exiting and initial the Local Institution is the main one picking up from the Foreign disposal, but of late , the local institution has been sidelined and the main one picking up from the foreign disposal is RETAILERS. the Malaysia tag team or what?

This trend is sending a uncomfortable signal,,where I think Bursa may go through a double dip, 1st dip completed and second dip coming when the reporting season is out, then continue recovery

TnG is just very small division to CIMB, very little effect on top & bottom lines. No matter how good is TnG perform, Malaysia market is just too small to be big.
