The Board of Directors of MBSB has recommended a Single-Tier Final Dividend of 3.0 sen net per Ordinary Share for the financial year ended 31 December 2019 ("Proposed Dividend").

Based on the total number of ordinary shares issued of 6,713,401,615 as at 31 December 2019, the Proposed Dividend payable would be approximately RM201.4 million.

The Board of Directors has determined that the option to reinvest via the Dividend Reinvestment Plan ("DRP") shall apply to the entire portion of the Proposed Dividend. The approval for the Proposed Dividend will be sought at the coming Annual General Meeting.

Under DRP, shareholders will have the following options in respect of the electable portion:-

(a) elect to exercise the option and thereby reinvest the entire electable portion (or a part thereof) at the issue price of the new MBSB shares ("DRP Price") and to receive cash for the remaining portion of the dividend (in the event that only part of the electable portion is reinvested); or

(b) elect not to exercise the option to reinvest and thereby receive their entire dividend entitlement wholly in cash.

There will be no brokerage fees and other related transaction costs payable by shareholders on the new MBSB shares allotted pursuant to the DRP.

The Books Closure date in respect of the Proposed Dividend will be announced after the Annual General Meeting.

This announcement is dated 6 May 2020.

Banks Directors have decided to turn Banks into charities instead of looking after shareholders’ interests! I trust they are all given Dato's or Tan Sri's for their giving away their shareholders money by providing free money to Hire Purchase debtors. BWM and Mercedes Benz owners will be delighted at our Banks Directors generosity (stupidity). I can’t think who they think they represent or how they see this charitable act is in the best interests of the shareholders. If we were in the USA the Directors would undoubtably be sued.

This stock is undervalued, more cash will flow in the market and bring up the stock market as ROI is much better.

More money has been added to the system in the past eight weeks than was added in the entire year following the collapse of Lehman Brothers, according to Siegel.

Once confidence begins to recover, that liquidity will flow into spending and into the stock market.

“I do think that the March low is definitely going to be the low,” Siegel said, adding that the stock market can make news highs in the next year-and-a-half to two years.

Still, there is risk, according to Siegel.

“The only worse-case scenario is if there’s a huge second wave in October, we don’t have therapeutics, no vaccine is available … and there’s a total shut down again,” he said.

While Siegel said that investors can’t take that possibility off the table, he views it as a low-probability risk.

Bank paid interest for Fixed Deposit and loan those money for automotive buyer but now bank couldn't enjoy any interest income meanwhile FD interest payment remain continue.

250b stimulus package of government is a big bluff. Out of it, 100b are from accured interest lost and absorbed by all the banks. Only 25b money comes from government directly. Not fair to shareholders of banks

So when Trump called for the Federal Reserve to to “accept the GIFT” of negative interest rates on Tuesday, a layman might have reasonably interpreted his proposal as the cockamamie fantasy of a certified crank. But the idea that America’s central bank should set benchmark interest rates below zero — which is to say, that it should start taxing the reserves of commercial banks instead of paying interest on them — is not peculiar to Trump. In fact, many respected economists believe that the U.S. should embrace the policy, which is already in effect in Europe and Japan. Further, as of earlier this week, Wall Street investors were betting that the Fed will bring interest rates below zero by mid-2021 in order to promote recovery from the coronavirus crisis.
