WarrenPuffet, I’m actually waiting for it dip a little more before the market closes. Do u think it’ll ? I reckon if it’s 3.6-3.7 range ; more likely to have meat to eat? Hmm. Still hesitating.

Really for long term, below 4 ok. I think.

Posted by WarrenPuffet > 2020-06-12 13:55 | Report Abuse

adriantam. Based on the past few days cimb moving structure...it seems on a slow up trend now. Even the last 2 days supposed to be huge drop but the price pick up before the market close so you can determine this share will not go too low.
Previous few weeks ago it stucked above 3.50+ where I was hoping it to go below 3.50 but it boost up suddenly just like that. So I believe it wont go back to the price I want anymore and I settled down and grab it below 4.

Yesterday pushed up at closing, from 3.9 to 3.95
Big Kaki ad joined at the end of may, support at 3.7
Prices around this is a good buy
Second wave thingy is just an excuse to consolidate
Everyone everywhere will be better prepared to handle such second wave, if it happens

The dividend payout is in august right, if not mistaken ?

Posted by melanie1818181818 > 2020-06-12 14:54 | Report Abuse

I get dividend almost every month, can’t remember when each counter pays dividends, but cimb pays twice a year. Big Kaki will not let it catch breather in 3 for long, soon it’ll break 4 and test 4.5

I buy Cimb at 3.8 before, and drop to 3.3 .. then back to 4.05 this two months.. below RM3.8 indeed can start buy abit if you plan hold for Long term.. just make sure you gain and more flexibility than FD

Based on current eps, the fair price will be around 3.5 - 3.8

Posted by HairyMan > 2020-06-12 23:07 | Report Abuse

Shld hold for long term. Stable. And better than FD. No problem to hit 4.80 by year end.

Just wondering. Will the coming Qr affects cimb share price drop even lower ?

Posted by Teosoontong > 2020-06-13 07:21 | Report Abuse

Purely based on eps, GenM is worth penny in current quarter. I still felt CIMB has better upside opportunity compared to the other bank stock which is nearer to their usual high. Nobody know the coming Q results impact , it can go lower but it can also go higher if it beat the expectation, the logical way if u want to bet long term is to buy in batches , average down if it go lower after q report. The risk of bankruptcy is extremely low.

Kelsey517 Just wondering. Will the coming Qr affects cimb share price drop even lower ?
It might. However, looking at Genting, GenM and Airasia, QR certainly did not cause the prices to drop. In fact, those counters rose in price after their QRs.
It is funny how BIMB and Takaful share prices drop when their QRs are unaffected by COVID. It is sad to see that most people now are trying to 'goreng' instead of buying value stocks for long term..

@DeepValueInvestor

The QR report by Genting, GenM, AA and etc are before the MCO. The million dollar question is how will investor react on QR during the MCO. Nobody knows. We have to wait and see. CIMB will be the first and it will show us the reaction of investors.

Warren Buffett dumped all his shares in goldman Sach. Wait for Oct... Ppl losing their jobs... Npl will rise soon. Banks will be impacted for sure. No need to rush to buy. We have not seen the worst of the economic impact yet. If got stock. Hold. But don't buy yet. It has more room to drop

Thanks all ;)

Zac don’t scare.. last round I bought at 3.80 drop all the way to 3.3 but I just keep on buying.. remember every buy is 10-20% of your fund and keep average down on Cimb if it fall a 10-20% again, won’t be wrong.. when it come up just sell half take profit and keep half for dividend or capital gain.

I using various of Cimb service and I felt they are great

Just bear in mind with so many uncertainties ahead, ALL IN is so risky and test your holding power for 1-2 years until it turn profit again.. many studies prove that Year 2020 could be worst than year 2008..

Now we are in Global Virus crisis financial adjustment

Posted by ZacChuinn91 > 2020-06-15 15:47 | Report Abuse

Thanks the great piece of advice Jason. I'm newbie here, juz ventured into the market in mid March, so this is my first real test as an investor haha. I bought at RM3.40, so will continue to hold for now 1st.

You are right with their services, I'm using it myself also.

Posted by DeepValueInvestor > 2020-06-15 16:27 | Report Abuse

Yeah no matter what, just continue to collect. This is Malaysia's 2nd largest bank and it is selling at 1/2 of price of the largest bank. After the glove and health stocks craze buying, who knows financial stocks might be next when people finally come back to their senses to buy for long term gains.

Posted by DeepValueInvestor > 2020-06-15 20:20 | Report Abuse

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xec13Bp9xXw. Lets collect more while we can before foreign fund starts swarming Asian equities.

Also, NBER is expecting this contraction to be briefer than earlier contractions. If that's the case, we should be out of recession in a time period shorter than 11 months (average). Action plan: collect all value/blue chip stocks as much as you can this year

Run for your life. Snap poll is around the corner.

Posted by WarrenPuffet > 2020-06-16 07:58 | Report Abuse

Don't worry about running or dying. Khazanah 25% EPF 16% PNB 12% these 3 Giants are holding more than 50% of CIMB shares. Imagine CIMB die, your retirement fund in EPF will greatly affected too. If these 3 giant suffers mean Malaysia will be in great crisis so no difference you run or not run.
So they won't let CIMB down so easily same to other big stocks.
