I don’t know the fuss about drip shares being discounted! It is cheap way to keep capital and yet pay dividend. Whether you big or small you get same benefit proportionally if you opt for shares. This is not uncommon. The fact that investors take shares is because they think there is value in the shares. It is still better than deeply discounted private placements which are definitely no no and very common practice in Malaysia often multiple,times.

I am a small investor and hold only 6,000 CIMB shares. How many DRS shares can I get? Certainly less than 100. I can probably make RM 50 from this exercise but have to pay RM 10 stamp fees n another RM 10 for courier service, what about parking and fuel...Many small investors like me would not want to go through such hassle and don't bother to apply. To retain capital, the most impartial way is to issue bonus shares. In this way, all investors, big and small would benefit equally.

Even if we assume a higher loan moratorium take-up rate by the B50 segment, maximum impact is <7%. From our analysis, Affin and BIMB would lose most while Maybank and CIMB are the least affected.

Taking up the drip option will give you pretty quick return of 16-20%, cant be bad. If you keep it for longer period than returns (income ) will compound on top of capital growth which is highly possible within 1-2 years max. Day traders different ball game.

I did it at investor.boardroomlimited.com , usually i will receive email from boardroom share registra which provide me the link. Once i signed in i can see all the drp that im entitled. Stamp hasil just online transfer as there will be a fpx link. Sometimes i received email from triicor too for MBSB drp.

Luckily the Govt, EPF & the bumiputra funds are big investors in banking stock loh!

This is an “interesting” development, a banking analyst said on learning about the banks coming up with a counter proposal, adding this shows that banks are looking for middle ground.

PETALING JAYA: Interstate travel nationwide will resume starting Monday (Oct 11), says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The Prime Minister said this during a special address at 3pm on Sunday (Oct 10).

"With the achievement of almost 90% of the population being fully vaccinated, therefore I would like to announce that interstate travel will be allowed. This will begin on Monday (Oct 11).
“Interstate travel is only allowed for those who are fully vaccinated.
“The lifting of the prohibition on interstate travel does not apply for visits to localities placed under enhanced movement control order," he added.
Ismail Sabri also said fully vaccinated Malaysians can travel abroad without MyTravelPass effective Monday (Oct 11)...

Banks stocks world over have recovered on back of economic recovery, Malaysia banks stocks still under performing so expectation is that will rally as the economy picks up and of course foreign asset allocation will increase and much will go into Banks like CIMB so I am expecting a over recovery or overshoot, going into 2022 in addition CIMb internal actions will provide additional flip.
