A lot of people think that Padu is a waste of time but what to do? PM and his best sidekick wan to do it.

Posted by Steven Chan > 3 weeks ago | Report Abuse

PH is in danger of losing support if it continues with unpopular schemes like Padu

new8888…if you are planning for accumulating Maybank for long-term dividend play…u may buy anytime..

Decide how much to invest every month, and buy periodically. When receive dividend, do reinvest to buyback new units.

Secret of Maybank investment are dollar-cost averaging (DCA) and dividend reinvestment (DRP).

Not surprise with their poor service , if u go open an account the staff will ask you so many questions ! I already transfered out all my deposits to HLB few years ago !

@new8888 definitely price will drop when x date as the earnings given to shareholders. You either buy before x date and earn the difference in profit or wait till x date and scoop on the cheap. Depends on when you have available funds and timing. I have done both. On the dollar cost average I usually don't practice that when it is raising. Only do it on falling prices and only after a significant drop. Other investors may have differing strategies. Whichever hope it works out for you

Bigger bank = more users = more strain to systems = more prone to cyber attacks

This is partly the reason why I prefer to bank with smaller banks, call Customer Service also no need hold on the phone line for long, very fast response 😆

@newbie2019..no luck..did not match..will try again after cuti Raya.

Posted by Steven Chan > 2 weeks ago | Report Abuse

It's surprising that Tiger as a leading bank n advance in digital banking is so poor in customer service.. Ignoring customer service is it's greatest flaw n could affect its credibility soon.

Yes, it's okay to do dollar cost averaging for Maybank, maybe not for some other counters. Can buy slowly for long term, especially if it becomes cheaper buy more. We all can make money from Maybank dividends.

Maybank is holding up very well today but wonder if it could hold at this level should the situation in the Middle East worsen.

@linges, I got a feeling this whole week will continue falling.. at least this week or at most continue till next week... feeling lucky so I parked at 9.50. I think got chance to pick up dead chicken.

In the chinese word, 'Danger' it comprises of 2 words - Threat and Opportunity. Also buying good stocks at a good price is like a game where you slowly, slowly catch the monkey. Not too fast (early), and patience is needed (wait for good price) otherwise monkey escapes you (gone opportunity). ;-)

Agree..its rare opportunity to see Maybank free-fall..

Last was during Covid..RM7.50..tapi not dare to buy..only after breaks RM8.00 resistant, starts to buy..

This time if fall below RM9.50 very good..if below RM9.00 is bargain..if below RM8.50 all-in..

Posted by prudentinvestor > 1 week ago | Report Abuse

Disposed of some early this morning. Would buy back after a 30 to 40 sen drop. A 1k gain is good enough.

@linges It wont drop so low. the pattern shows strong resistance at 9.55, I parked at 9.50 bcos it was the x-date price - trying my luck to pick up dead chicken la

The Israeli war cabinet is set to meet again on Tuesday, according to Reuters. The prime minister’s office and foreign ministry did not immediately respond to a CNBC request for comment.

Speaking after the cabinet’s Monday gathering, an Israeli official said the country’s decision-makers believe it is important for any potential response to closely follow the attack, and that such a gesture would be coordinated with Washington, NBC News reports.

@linges you to start queuing your orders now if you plan to buy at 9.50 as by the time it breaks thru 9.55 no more chance as big boys queue up way way before hand. I always do this queuing ip early, that's how I manage to pick up some good stocks at very low price e.g. MAHB at 5.50, YTLP at 0.67, etc. Some calculated luck too as if you dabble in stocks long enough you know the big boys how they will trick the anchovies. I have paid my share of fees from learning it the hard way. That's why I would rather stop day trading to make small gains but rather buy and keep.. less stress la.. planning to build up my stock and EPF portfolio and hopefully give me a double digit pension when I am sixty

@jeffchan1901 congrates on MAHB and YTLP.
yeah RM9.50 would be strong support to break. Even if foreign fund starts to dump Tiger, local institutions will absorb first, like what happen to Tenaga yesterday.

In middle east conflict, both countries are very cautious in their next plan of action. Thus, may de-escalate soon.

@linges not too sure. US seems a likely beneficiary in this war as well. Makes the world reserve currency very much in demand and yes continue to support the petro Dollar. Until and unless, BRICS trading using local currencies is a confirmed and permanent trading option for the world outside the influences of US, the US would still want to continue the war as long as possible resulting in their increase spending and boosting their GDP in the process and delaying a possible recession. so far only China, Russia and India started trading in local currencies. I believe Malaysia and Singapore is interested as well but no official mention or stance in this matter. Look at Ukraine, more than a year and US seems to wash their hands off the issue. EU fighting among themselves to see who will fund the ongoing war. the only winner? Gold
