Price kept dropping despite so many calls to accumulate. But, I think downside is limited. Let's say drop to 3.00, the loss can be recovered by around 1 year of dividend. I consider it as a safe bet. Better than putting into savings account.

I shifted some money to magnum quite sometime already,but regretted in not shifting all!Magnum seems to manage its debt more prudently and stays forcussed on its core business.The mgt is planning ,at the right time to dispose u mobile when the apportunity arises

retnam on PE BJ Toto is better. Actually they can pay higher dividend but I think reducing debts is also a priority.

Be very very careful when investing in Bank long term product and ask many questions like :
1) What will be the opening price of this Fund
2) what is this Fund actually invested in
I invested in Maybank 5 year callable Myr range accrual Floating rate
This Fund dropped 10% on opening price
maybank also said Fund was invested in Maybank Bonds & certain derivatives .

My issue is this ---- if maybank opens a Fund and invested in its own Bonds and payment to Investors is dependent on set of criteria eg klibor capped at say 4% .
Doesn't this mean -----
When Investors gets interest , then Maybank loses as need to pay bond interest .
When Maybank wins ( no need to pay interest to investors ) , then Investors loses due to criteria exceeded .
Why would this QUALIFY as an INVESTMENT and still sold in the market ?

Why don't YOU ask your Bank ?
Once the product comes onto the market , there is really NO CHANCE for anybody to exit without making a LOSS .
Check with your bankers if the product will EVER be priced above Rgt 1 ( assume the most ideal scenario )
Then come back and PROVE me wrong !

how true about kkng0819kk's comments on unit trusts investment. the initial service charges can cost bomb you, like 5 to 6% of yr total investment. Compare this with brokerage costs you pay for share purchase of less than 0.6% to the remiser. Its rip off. A. David

Buy around 3 n collect dividend every qtr is the answer to the present lacklustre market. Dividend pa is around 20-25c. This amount is better than putting FD in local banks earning 3.2 % pa.

D main things whether they are good news from investment in Vietnam, Japan or maybe in Malaysia or other country. If there is a new project of integrated resort, hotel n casino, then maybe d price will shoot upward. Bjtoto is a matured, stable income, unique company, but it needs great news to attract big investors or funds managers. At present it is a bit boring, just getting some penny from dividend, like retirees in needs of some income. For investors wz stable job, they are more daring, not only dividend, they want big capital gains. So it is all about $ n emotional stability in d future.

This massive share buyback is the best move under the circumstances. So far 1/2% treasury shares - maybe at these low prices, they should aim to ramp up to 1%.
