Based on helloworld and other sharing, looks like the deal is going to go thru. PM, Ministers won't comment unless got some sort of confirmation. Going forward, in the near term, share of Proton loss to DRB will be 49% or about half and improving over time (FSP won't buy if they cannot see a future profit).....with this in mind and the other positives like POS, Honda, Batu 3 land, defence contract etc. Can start accumulating. My opinion.

So today POS is Rm4.70 while DRB is only Rm1.39
These are the percentages:
for POS to Rise from Rm4.70 to Rm10.00 = 112%
for DRB to rise from Rm1.39 to Rm5.00 = 259%
So by percentage DRB is 259% while POS is 117&
So DRB will perform better by 121% more than POS.
I think the bottom line for DRB looks more attractive to Calvin than POS.

Currently, POS market capital is much more bigger than its holding company DRB. Together with pending postal hike + digital free trade zone end by end of this year 2018, Pos market value could be even higher .

DRB market capital is RM 2.667 billion
Pos market capital is RM 3.757 billion

DRB control 53.5% stake in Pos worth RM 2.01 billion, already form about 75% DRB entire market capital now. The balance value form and support by solid profit generating 32% stake in HONDA, 100% stake in Bank Muamalat, landbank, alam flora, puspakom, plane part maker CTRM, military maker Deftech + loss maker 100% stake in proton etc


Once, DRB divest loss making proton to foreign strategy partner, market perception will disassociate DRB = proton; proton = DRB. The divestment plan also allow DRB to recoup back its investment in proton, write back provision and get rid of proton loss making account, avoid consolidated in DRB book as proton status will be reduce from wholly own subsidiary to company associate, only need to equity account proton in future.

Remark: correction, Drb control 70% stake in bank muamalat. Drb may seek listing bank muamalat to pare down its stake to below 50% .

Remark: Drb investment in proton is RM 3 billion at least based on acquisition cost in 2012.
