if you see companies sacking thousands of workers like TG, never buy anymore, but no need to sell if you did not dump earlier around peak, coz its only money.

demand for speciality chemicals changes with progress of civilization, no one knows the answer, its high risk.

only demand for core chemicals like urea, butadiene, most plastics are extremely stable ... ... for now.

I left the chemistry thingy long ago. Counting money is way much easier, yawn !!!

Fair value gain on derivative financial instruments: RM 472,651,000.

You can compare what happen to mogas crack spread during q1 2020 to what happen to magas crack spread in q3 2022 to make your prediction what will be q3 2022 realised and unrealised mogas refining margin swap contracts.

The beauty this time round is the dieael and jetfuel sell will bring in lot of profit for HRC.

Ford is in the midst of a major restructuring, devoting more resources to electric vehicles and trimming $3 billion in annual costs from its internal-combustion development efforts. Starting next year, the company will report results for three business units: Ford Blue, representing its legacy internal-combustion business; Ford Model e, its electric vehicle business; and Ford Pro, its commercial vehicle operation.

Lawler reiterated that Ford is targeting a total company adjusted EBIT margin of 10% — and an 8% EBIT margin from its EVs — by 2026. He did acknowledge that it is not "cost competitive" with rivals at the moment, something that the company is working to change. But he declined to comment on a Wall Street Journal report that Ford is planning to lay off thousands of workers as part of its restructuring plan.

Ford said that its shipments in Europe were up about 22% from the year-earlier period to about 222,000 vehicles on supply chain improvements and strong demand for its commercial vehicles. But Ford's wholesale shipments in China fell 24% in the second quarter, to about 114,000 vehicles, amid extended government-mandated shutdowns near Shanghai and in other parts of eastern China.

Ford said last week that it has secured 100% of the battery supplies it will need to deliver electric vehicles at a rate of 600,000 per year by the end of 2023, and that it's on track to build 2 million a year by 2026.

Because the operating cost (production + admin + depreciation + finance cost) is about RM 449 million for year 2020.

And due to 10 years supply contract to Shell hence even running refining at loss still need to fulfill the delivery to Shell petrol stations

The cost of insuring the firm’s bonds against default climbed about 15% last week to levels not seen since 2009 as the shares touched a new record low. On Friday, Chief Executive Officer Ulrich Koerner reassured staff that the bank has a “strong capital base and liquidity position” and told employees that he will be sending them a regular update until the firm announces a new strategic plan on Oct. 27.
