The Bill, which is in its second reading, will also require the tabling of the Penal Code (Amendment) Act 2022 and the Criminal Procedure Code (Amendment) (No.2) 2022.
The first amendment that was made was to Act 574 to make stalking an offence. This was followed by the addition of a new Section 507(a) to Act 574 that stipulates offences for stalking.
Section 507(a) states that whoever repeatedly by any act of harassment, intending to cause, or knowing or ought to know that the act is likely to cause, distress, fear or alarm to any person or the person’s safety, commits the offence of stalking.
Meanwhile, Subsection (1) states that the act of harassment may include following a person in any manner or by any means, communication or attempting to communicate with a person in any manner of by any means, loitering at the place of residence or business of a person and giving or sending anything to a person in any manner or by any means.
Further, whoever commits the offence of stalking shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years or with fine or both and for final clarification the section uses the word ‘repeatedly’ which shall refer to at least two occasions.

The global inflation is caused by the ongoing war by Russia and Ukraine. The supply chain for the raw materials and services have been disrupted and many countries are still facing the challenges/consequences from this conflict.
The conventional economic approach for tackling the inflation is by increasing the interest rate from the Central Banks of those affected countries.
The hikes of interest rates in the US banking system has resulted appreciation of the US currency. Similar to the past incidents, the US Dollar has always being the safe asset for the business entities and individuals to mitigate their losses of values as they local currencies have depreciating continuously.
For the US entities, the large volume of repatriation of the USD funds from various parts of the world will eventually have these entering the US stock market as well. As a result, we will see that the US stock market will survive the down fall effect.
As for other bourses in the regions, the sell down will be eventually settled down after a huge losses in terms of the stock indexes and capitalization for many of the counters.
Lastly, the local currencies for many of these countries will have to face the effects of depreciated value as compared to USD especially. The people will have to deal higher cost of living, larger amount of repayment amount for monthly bank loan and depletion of foreign currencies reserve by the respective central banks.
The winner is the US market although their citizens will also have to live with higher cost of living owing to the multiple hikes of interest rate from the Federal Reserve.
