@chessgame99, you may be referring to minority interests. YTL Corp books in the entire profit before tax from subsidiaries like YTL Power and MCement, then deduct off the minority interest for stakes it does not own in these subsidiaries

Contoh:

Mother Berhad has 1 subsidiary, Son Sdn Bhd, which it owns 40% of its shares
Mother Berhad is just an investment holding company i.e. it does not have any business operations

Year 2023 Son Sdn Bhd reported numbers:
Revenue RM100m
Profit RM20m

In Mother Berhad account, will look like this:

Revenue RM100m

Profit RM20m
Less: Non-controlling interest (-RM12m)
Profit attributable to shareholders = RM8m

Means that if you are shareholder of Mother Berhad, the profit that "belong" to you is only the RM8m

That RM12m belongs to other shareholders of Son Sdn Bhd

Hi Dragon328 and Pinky - thanks for clarifying. Understand now. Was a bit confused for a while but i guess the main driver for YTL corp non controlling interest profit is YTL power .. so it make sense now. Nevertheless, it does seem like YTL corp also has done a rather massive turn around for the other biz which was loss making last year...

YTL meeting is set on 5 Dec next week. Keeping our finger crossed for the new FTSE/KLCI list of 30 largest companies on Bursa announcement. Expect more upward momentum for YTL. Foreign funds and our neighbouring Singaporean link investment companies can accumulate and invest into YTL { a strategic supplier of power and water}and hotel developer in the island republic. Currently alot of larger investment funds are not allowed to invest in the small cap companies. Not a buy call just my own 2 sen idea. Please do your own research before you buy or sell.

IDSS shorties being turned into cream puffs today with the average shorted price @ $1.53!🤣 I Q-ed a little to sell @ 1.61 today, not expecting it to be done so early, if at all since the mkt is more bearish than bullish & I needed something to reach 823 days of trading profit in a row. Ah well, down to the last 2000 to hold till '24!

Ytl need to close higher today and sustain the upward momentum. Then technically we can see a chart formation of a golden cross. A breach of the 1.63-1.65 is a strong signal for more upward momentum coming. Just sharing
