It's a standard international practice show of confidence and willingness to cooperate with any internal investigations without being in the way of conflict of interest as CEO/Chairman. I applaud the move to step aside.

But the things is speculators and gamblers are already keen to brand the duo as guilty. So.... price tanked, and created excellent opportunity with at least minimum 50-60% margin of safety for long term investors for the price to eventually revert to the mean. Or at least 20% from liquidation price book value.

People will still fly, revenues will still come in. Bankruptcy is far from reality. Traders say SELL. I remain bullish of AA's long term potential.

@RogerTan, yeah. This is the third time as I can recall, first they got free maintanance for their jet, then the Indian authority looks for them, and now this is the third time.

Bear in mind now Airasia is not making money anymore, so what it has now? Maybe a few licences that worth the money?

1. It is very hard for them to get away, because the basic evidence is sufficient. Plus international anti corruption cooperation.

2. Their step aside will likely to last a long time or permanent.

3. I think it will be better for Airasia without TF and MK, because a) they bankrupt every other businesses they had (expect TuneProtect and Airasia), b) they have been accused of bribery at least three times, internationally c) their success is solely based on the weakness of MAS, they are essentially opportunists rather than enterpreneurs.

4. If you let them stay probably they will bankrupt Airasia too in a few years after merging with MAS and AAX. I am just saying there is a fair chance of that happening.

5. You see any Malaysian businessman being accused of bribery overseas so many times? They still say people jealous. But are the duos richest in Malaysia? Certainly not.

6. As one intelligent gentleman suggest, admit the "weakness" and return the money, then they will be fine. But clearly they are not doing that.

merger with Mas---The last Tony said the moment Pnb said merger Off----He is immediately Off Medications. Tony will never allow AA and AAX books open for inspection ( i mean REAL books )
Sell Mas to AA for RM1.0 ( planes + Debt ) still he is back to medications( just cannot make money

Airasia have other division , not only travel . Airasia have diversified well by the business owner who see far ahead. Teleport can carry more cargo load if plane are light.
