Ppl often thinks that if AA die then there will be no competition. Foolish thinkking. We need airplanes to fly but not one particular airline company. Other company can take over AA and start again, AA may survive but doesnt mean the equity you holding now will worth shit. Please learn more before putting your money into the market.

My personal opinion, AA will survive but what will it take? I'd rather sit out and wait. Shareholder value may be wiped to very low and take years to recover. Same conviction as my earlier comments.

and for those thinking next quarter loss will be greater than this quarter, this depends on a lot of factor. I dont think next quarter losses wil be more than this quarter and hedging losses has been accounted for and AA has been cutting costs.

Less revenue does not equal to more losses.

This is a mess. And it doesn't end here. Next quarter is going to be even more horrendous. Quarter after that may improve slightly, but AA will still be mired in red ink. The red ink will continue for the rest of 2021. With luck, may be 2022 will be in the black. By then the share price would have been degraded to 20-30 sen. It's tough decision for those who are caught. But this is certainly not the time be irrational, unless you know how to trade profitably all the way down. For those who can't, it is certainly not a good idea to double down. I do not own AA shares at this time. I am a value investor. At some point, I may buy into AA. That time has not come. It bleeds my heart to see people lose their hard-earned money.

@BullRUN2021 can't blame them ... they don't understand what a liquidation event means, just like how TF bought AA for RM1, another company can buy AA for RM1 and take over the assets while the shareholders left holding the liabilities.

To me, Air Asia is a victim of adoption of MFRS 16 on lease liabilities. The previously unrecognized off balance sheet lease liabilities has been brought back to book and suddenly they are in net current liability situation. The arrangement was always there and i thought the auditors would have qualified the accounts long time ago.

Barring the Covid-19 issue, fundamentally things are still the same.

Partially agree with the above statement. For small fries like us its always good to put money into boring/predictable companies that will consistently produce cash. Don't catch a falling knife like this atm, as we don't know how deep is the pit.

I'll say it again, once AA proves to be solvent without extreme measure that will deteriorate existing shareholder's value, i will join you all to support the business/share price.
