"After 37 years of continuous employment, through which I have learned and grown so much, I am faced with having to lose my job along with 40% of my Group Team today.
The Covid Pandemic impact has finally bitten hard at airasia, recovery out of it according to its leaders is now not as certain as expected, these additional attempts to stop the bleeding is one of the many outcomes. I wish them luck in this next battle, we fought many over the last 3 yrs just to get here."
Now cost of living is getting higher, ringgit is depreciating, food is expensive, people has not much extra cash to travel. Airline will be 3/4 empty ....
But immigration is full everyday til halau people. I wonder why people renew their passport for if they have no intention to travel. Those affected by inflation were never frequent flyer even before covid, let alone after. It’s always the middle-class and T20 who fly.
Sarcasm777, transport was compulsory from moto till the car even flight. in malaysia have separate semenanjung and sabah/sarawak borneo state. malaysia was not as big market as indonesia but still boleh lah if you there melancong or western adventurer
Alice7591, not confident, not only aa but this country also not confident due height inflation and lack of stock food available in market (even western go this country but no delicious food then they will go back from malaysia) and also no buruh working. if you are talking about our society working, iam not confident due about long story buruh from other country was helping develop our country actually. start from heir cut, build home/corporate and our cooking but when pandemic and RM drop. i feel like malaysia was not for investor or foreign to choose anymore
winetime, yup, AA need long time to get recovery or bankrupt. air asia thai nearly to bankrupt or actually bankrupt. so may be aa need long time to get recovery.
Donator, boleh pakai due cheap.. so for poor people/marhaen will forcefully to used air asia in even complain u still used it as bus public transport? if other flight, maybe can forcefully to used other flight. even me will used air asia caused no money to spend
Finally a nice result by AirAsia. As expected due to higher travel demand domestically. This quarter only loss 1billion, well done and congrats to all share holder.
In addition, on April 29 this year, the group received an audit opinion from the external auditor Ernst & Young (EY), which indicated that under the foreseeable circumstances, the group has the ability to continue its business in the future.
"We are confident that we will emerge from PN17 after the board meeting completed today and plan to submit a report to Bursa Malaysia in the near future."
this airline service has been getting worse day by day. My flight was rescheduled 4 times in 1 week!!! how the hell do you do business like this? We need more airlines come in to take away customer from airasia since apparently they can't handle the customers here. and Im getting MAVCOM to investigate these type of willfull business practices. Told that my flight is confirmed, then few days later say sorry reschedule again.
the key for the update is: "Fernandes added that Capital A had received a clean audit opinion by its auditors Ernst & Young on April 29, denoting its ability to continue business for the foreseeable future. The auditors’ previous opinion of “material uncertainty related to going concern” on Capital A is now removed."
Losing billions 12 quarters straight, the company already losing money back to back quarters even before the pandemic, the pandemic is just the final nail in the coffin.
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
