The MYAirline news indeed is good for CapA. (One less competitor)
But how come this USD400m loan news, geary talked like it is a good news?

Based on latest quarter report (29 Aug), supposed CapA still have 700m+ on hand
Then on 3rd Oct, accepted a USD150m term loan (about MYR700m+-)
Now looking for another USD400m loan (about MYR1.8 billion)

What does that mean to you?

This is not looking good.
Where does this 700m+700m gone?
And where is the Q3 460m profit that geary promised?
Why need another 1.8b now?
Want to expand business?

xskyriver hi...!
Capital A Bhd group, is seeking a US$400 million (RM1.8 billion) loan, half of it from private credit funds, to refinance debt, according to people familiar with the matter.

The loan will be in the form of a Revenue Convertible Bond, with investors to be paid out of ticket sales from ten AirAsia flight routes, the people said, declining to be identified because the matter is private.
A representative of the company declined to comment.
(Mandatory Convertible Bond also possible, like Temasek $9.7 Bn, issued to bulk up SIA Balance Sheet)

CapitalA, probably Mandatory Convertible Bonds of : $2Bn n 1B Right Issue, can 'kao-tim' its Balance Sheet, by FY 2024 Result.

As at 30th June 2023, Cap A's sales in advance was RM2,024,943,000

The RM2.023943 Billion is a liability because Cap A took passengers money and has burnt the money

So, Cap A has reached a limit in taking in sales in advance

And now the idea is to get loan in advance of sales in advance?

Stony can post the request in TNB tiang

The interest rate charged by ICL is in accordance with the Moneylending Act, which is not more than 12% p.a. for secured loans and not more than 18% p.a. for unsecured loans.

Everyone is welcome to borrow money from Insas credit and leasing.

Agree with i3lurker, these parasites/conman will flood the whole capA forum with cut and paste gibberish in the hope that no one will able to see our opinions, figure and fact on what went wrong in capA.

Do not blame SSLee, it could be a very good opportunity for his Insas money lending business. His consistent comments here maybe one of his strategies to promote it.

To be fair to CapA, covid-19 is responsible and most likely the last straw that broke the camel's back is weakening RM and increasing interest rate.

MYAirline’s action to suspend operations abruptly tell us something. U need a lot of money to run the airline business.
CapitalA keep on borrowing money in spite of the facts that pent up travel has reached the highest in the last 2 quarters yet they need to keep getting loan after loan . U are not in good seat looking at this. “PN17 status already with Hugh debt to pay”
Anyway foods for thought!!!!

More than 90% of investors lose money because they do not read and understand financial report: P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow Statement.

That is why I consistent copy and paste of thn financial numbers so that i3 readers can have some understanding on the financial numbers or else you will be conned by the pump and dump conman to chase high.

Capital A stands to benefit most from MYAirline suspension, says Maybank IB
TheEdge Fri, Oct 13, 2023 09:56am - 1 hour

KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 13): Maybank IB Research has maintained its “positive” stance on the Malaysian aviation sector and said Capital A Bhd stands to benefit the most via higher fares, following MYAirline Sdn Bhd abruptly suspending its flight operations.

In a note on Thursday (Oct 12), the research house said that by its estimation, Malaysia Airport Holdings Bhd (MAHB) could be mildly negatively impacted on fewer passengers and a potential provision for doubtful debts, while AirAsia X Bhd (AAX) would not be impacted at all.

On MAHB, Maybank IB expects the airport operator to be mildly negatively impacted.

It said MYAirline accounted for less than 10% of MAHB’s Malaysia domestic passenger traffic and less than 2% of revenue and estimates, considering domestic passenger service charges (PSCs) are 5x-7x lower than that of international PSCs.

“There are also amounts outstanding to it from MYAirline but MAHB assures us that any provision will not have a material impact (i.e. less than 5%) on earnings.

“On AAX, we do not expect it to be affected at all. MYAirline was operating narrow body Airbus A320s that fly to domestic and Asean destinations. AAX operates wide body Airbus A330s that fly to destinations beyond Asean (except Bali),” it said.

Maybank IB said MYAirline competes directly with Capital A’s 100% owned Malaysia AirAsia (MAA), which historically contributes more than 80% to group earnings.

“Coupled with the delayed delivery of narrow body Boeing B737 MAX 8s to Malaysia Airlines (Not Listed), the industry’s domestic capacity will take time to return to 100% of 2019 (pre-pandemic) levels (Maybank Investment Banking Group estimate: 80%-90% currently).

“This will exert upward pressure on fares.

“Moreover, the timing of MYAirlines’ suspension is at the start of the year-end travelling period. Fares tend to peak in 4Q, which may mean a bumper 4Q2023 for Capital A. All else being equal, every RM1 higher than average MAA fare will accrete RM25 million-RM30 million to group earnings,” it said.
