low oil price is good for refineries business, lower cost for hydrocarbon, PCHEM is a refineries stock. products from the refineries are still needed despite demand of oil to maintain the existing daily user market.

Before I forget, or if you didn't listen to the interview, the stocks that Ian Yoong is currently holding right now are O&G stocks and small cap businesses in malaysia. KAB is also one of his holdings.

PET Chem is in very good shape. Will this benefit other players in same industry like CCM or LCTITAN? CCM has invested alot in caustic soda and major supplier to glove industry

CCM, some chemicals, LCtitan - PP. Pchem is much much more diverse from PP,PE, fertilizer, chemicals, methanol, speciality chemicals. U say leh.. CCM and lctitan can compare boh? nope.

Pchem can be placd at the top of all chemical co in Malaysia IMHO. the reasons being products are more diverse from PP, PPE, methanol, speciality products, fertilizer etc. Now the co has pengerang in opeartion JV with foreign country. I also read somewhere it is low gearing & cash flush.. it is top echeleon co in SEA/Asia... share price should move higher & higher.. it is a mtter of time.. read the Annual Report 2019 to see the diverse products Pchem manufacture..Moreover the big shareholders are petronas n GLC if i am not mistaken...

acceptable result, will continue to hold
Few things i noticed in the latest quarter results;
1) their specialty chemicals started to contribute (from Da Vinci) about 5-6% of revenue but contributes about 18% of last year corresponding quarter profit (30% for current quarter), which is very good if they expand more on this segment, much more resilient and high margin than their O&D segment

2) their fertilizer&methanol segment as resilient as usual, lower plant utilization due to higher turnaround, expect better performance next quarter as urea price is higher as of now.

3) their O&D segment barely breakeven this quarter, with 100% plant utilization! the report mentioned about some deferment of shipment due to COVID 19 port control, not sure to what extend it affects the sales volume.

Most petrochemical products price dropped in April but recovered in May, methanol price is bad, Urea price is higher, lets see how it goes next few quarters, but i am hopeful for longer term (3-5 years), if they expand more and more on specialty chemicals, also RAPID commencement.

PetChem’s foray into speciality chemicals is the right move to escape the volatility of crude oil prices. The management guided that speciality chemicals would eventually contribute up to 25% of the group’s earnings in the future. PetChem became my largest holding this year and I will continue to accumulate.

I donno how this Analyst do their job, with call price around 4.45, 4.42, 5.85, 5.75. All their explanation in on products mainly. Do they even priced in RAPID and also the fundamentally sound business at this trying time? Cash Rich position and also potential of growth.

probably they want to push down to collect before mco lifted and things rebounded, too late la. we buy and keep long term punya, you need to pay a premium to take away from me.
