my view is, ytlp is better if compare with ytlp-wb in view with the 1:20 dividend. The ytlp-wb already factor in the dividend. 1.14 + 55 = 169.

Theothecally,if ytlp close at 1.70 on monday, on the XD the YTLP is 1.70 X 0.95 ~ 1.62. hence the ytlp-wb will have 7c (1.69-1.62) premium (1.14 + 55 = 1.69)

Contrary to you point, it is in fact is too cheap for warrant that still have 4.5year lifespan and yet only trade <5% premium

hng33, your statement also not wrong but at this moment wb valuation follow mum, don't care about the lifespan. i will enter wb when premium is 0 and below. wait for the right moment to enter.

Correct, the lifespan is 4.5 years. And normally the warrant should trade 10-20% again the mother price. But I think, we all knows that, based on the past history, the ytlp-wb seldom or never trade as premium > 5% again the mother price.

warrant's valuation is based on future growth which determined by public, this share lack of growth, Do you willing to buy at premium? If you do not willing, how do you expect others to buy? Unless there is big acquisition or share buy back resumed aggresively. Honestly, if im a shareholder i wont hope company to spend too much on share buy back, i will rather hope the company go M&A or invest in other business which will give us growth.

Q: invest in other business ?
YTLP already venture aggressively into wireless 4g broadband network back 3 year ago, in which during these 3 year gestation time, incur operation loss, the loss is further exaggerated to developed 1bestariNet to cover all 10,000 school nationwide, main culprit for share price slump and cut quarterly dividend payout.

Q: lack of growth ?
No doubt, its broadband still at loss based on Q2 result ending 2013, but ithe loss already narrowing significantly. With the completion of 1 bestariNet end of last year, YTLP stand to received RM 300m annual management fee these year onwards from MOE for entire contract 15year. Furthermore, Yes broadband already is frontrunner in 4g network (>80% coverage), ahead of major telco player with Maxis only have 15% 4g coverage with balance still on 3g network.

YTLP develop its 4g network transmission tower based on flat IP telephony, capable to migrate 4g Wimax to 4g LTE by just add slot channel cards and these innovative invent has recognize globally and have won the patent grant from Singapore and Korea in Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona

It is therefore, as shareholder, expect YTLP broadband division to start turnaround and being the third major earning contributor along with Power division and water division.

Can YTLP list its Telco/broadband unit when it turn profitable?

Posted by Fat Cat Tim Buddy > 2014-03-06 10:12 | Report Abuse

maybe offer the IPO at PE x28 , offer 15% of shares , lol but i dont think ytlp will wanna share the profit , somemore they dont need the ipo cash as they already is cash rich.

The possible is if Yes broadband about to turnaround into major earning contributor, it will likely take over by YTL, possible by end of these year. YTL already through YTLP share buyback, both via share cancellation and share dividend increase its stake gradually, from about 47% last year to 53% (after share dividend) + through Yeoh private control stake (about 10.3% after share dividend). It is likely continue use YTLP own cash pile to buyback and later either through redistribute back to YTL via share dividend or direct increase YTL stake by share cancellation to ultimately reach combine stake above 70% before trigger take over.

Patience is a key in investment, particular for YTL/YTLP, low beta stock. If already invested, stay on till harvest time, if not yet invest, can opt to choose other more aggressive penny stock or growth stock to enjoy short term volatile price movement and capitalize on gain/loss

hng33, if yeoh family own 70% shares of ytlp, it will trigger a take over? they need how many % of shareholders vote to get it through? can educate me a little bit here? :p

Any public listed company must retain at least 25% public spread. If Yeoh private own company together with YTL combined stake reach 70% stake in YTLP, it will likely launched take over (possible via share swap with YTL share at certain ratio and reference price) as it is unlikely for YTLP able to buyback more than 70% via open market.

These is because, YTLP stake is tightly control by institutional fund, mainly by fund under PNB: ASB + value cap + ASM etc. If take into account another 2 GLC EPF and kumpulan Wang persaraan, all combined GLC control about 22.3. These imply if Yeoh able to control about 70% through YTLP continue sbb and share dividend + treasury cancellation, it can easily launched take over and can reach 90% compulsory take over by just convince these GLC to accept, without need to worry about public/retail shareholder approval.

hng33,

thanks for your great info here. I am new bird. I would like to ask, how likely would the take over of YTLP happen? and what is the benefit they do so compare to continue listing in KLSE?

many thanks.

Posted by Fat Cat Tim Buddy > 2014-03-06 11:38 | Report Abuse

wa.. this is what i worry the most, just like ytl-cement , retail/public shareholder is taken for ride.

but why GLC will so easily get convince to accept the take over?

Posted by Fat Cat Tim Buddy > 2014-03-06 11:49 | Report Abuse

if everytime also like this, no public/retail investor will want to invest in ytl companies anymore lo.

Q: how likely would the take over of YTLP happen?
The odds is keep increasing if YTLP continue sbb after ex-share dividend, trim down its treasury stock to below 5% and resume back sbb. Based on estimation if sbb continue, it will by end of these year, Yeoh control stake can reach about 70% and by then, time is ripe to launched take over

Q: what is the benefit they do so compare to continue listing in KLSE?
Yeoh family is in actual control YTL stake (direct interest). It is through YTL control YTLP (indirect interest), which is its major earning contributor. Therefore, if YTLP can take over by YTL through share swap, the future earning from YTLP will be wholly enjoy by YTL, rather than dilute to minority shareholder of YTLP. The share swap if happen will still retain Yeoh family major direct interest in YTL, as the Yeoh family itself also have about 10% direct stake in YTLP + 70% ESOS + 50% warrant, which if swap to YTL will prevent dilution of their interest in YTL.

The major catalyst for possible YTLP take over by YTL is its turnaround Yes 4g broadband division, which is likely to be next major earning contributor along with power and water division

Fat Cat Tim Buddy

Its depend how you view previous YTL take over YTL cement. Although the is minimum premium at that time, but in actual all YTL cement received more than what share swap offer, as YTL share trade above share swap reference price and keep going up after offer seal. I personally went through the whole take over episode and rewarded handsomely after swap to YTL share at that time.

These GLC also most of them at the same time also have stake in YTL, therefore, if the share swap didn't harm their interest, swapping to enlarge YTL will be better as take over is earning accretive to YTL, and is catalyst for YTL share price to move higher

bottom line is still need to see YTLP's broadband in profit first.
if this division turnaround, share price still stay at pathetic level, liklihood it will be takenover. shares swap is the most viable method as it involve no money.

Another stock, which i think also hold promising outlook is WCT (remark: I'm holding its WCT-WC). It have noticeably change in shareholding

Based on figure from last annual report to latest change in shareholding:

EPF: 8.61% increase to 10.91%
Kumpulan Wang Persaraan: 5.62% increase to 6.27%
LTH: 8.22% increase to 9.34%
ASB: 4.32% increase to 5.43%

In total, the above GLC combined stake have increase from 26.77% to latest 31.86% or 19% increase in stake holding in less a year

DiGi's RM900mil plan to boost coverage, but non-committal on P1 buy

.....Murty said the investment will be to increase its high-speed packet access and 3G coverage to 86% of the population, grow its long term evolution footprint to 1,500 sites, and expand its fibre network.....

Plan capex RM900m......but most of the DIGI network still on 3g...grow coverage 3g to 86% !? and grow 1500 4g sites only.

vs.

YTLP Yes 4g network.....more than 4500 site...coverage more than 80%...and all its 4g Wimax is ready to migrate to 4g LTE
