The 1BestariNet tie-up with the Government will bring about some RM4.0 bil guaranteed profit to YTLP over a span of 15 years, if YTLP is able to meet some specified performance indicators during this period. As YTLP is at the
tail-end of its capex spending for the installation of 5,000 base stations in Peninsular Malaysia, we expect this segment to break even as soon as early 2015. Although it may be still at its infancy stages of growth, we believe that
this segment may outshine YTLP’s core utilities business as one of the key earnings drivers for the Company moving forward.

what a good way to throw good money away... this is really a bad management company, hold so much cash and then slowly burn it away, nobody will wanna use yes because it is expensive, and while tm unifi further penetrate into more area, many user will change to tm , mobile phone also lose to digi and maxis, yes capex so huge, reward so puny , risk so high, really sohai this yeoh cbkiamsiapkia kikiki... when there is no one he can take advantage of, he screw it own shareholders by no giving dividend, he going to be ok because his salary is huge , even the ytl also got huge retire bonus 1-2 millions annually, they still can live like king, use RM 1.95 to share buy back but now share price so low yet they dont want buy back, what is the logic?

If sbb resume back, YTLP soon or later will back to above RM 1.90 or even RM 2.00 (recall last year trend, sbb resume back July last year).

Alternatively, if without sbb back, at least can expect YTLP to deliver consistent EPS 3.8sen/quarter toward the end of the year, increase NTA by another 15sen at least, which should theoretically translate into additional 15 sen to YTLP net assets, and for same valuation PE, it should apply to YTLP share price, to increase another 15sen to RM 1.73 (warrant 60sen)

YTLP wholly own subsidiary, Power seraya has granted increase electricity rate 0.08% starting form 1 April. The traffic rate is review every quarterly to reflect electricity cost.

@houseofordos, as of last SBB during Feb, treasury share is at 9.86%. However, YTLP given off share dividend of 20: 1 hence this will use up nearly half of their total treasury shares. So i think right not should be about 5.35% treasury share.

houseofordos

Correct, as mention by Keng, treasury stock now reduce to about 5% after share dividend distributed.

Even without sbb now, YTLP could be value buy now and closing today at RM 1.60 above MA, if can persist, signal share about reverse trend.

The key catalyst is YTLP Yes broadband division to turnaround as early as these year, as these year will start realize full year contribution from 1BesateriNet.
The 1BestariNet tie-up with the Government will also bring about some RM4.0 bil guaranteed profit to YTLP over a span of 15 years, if YTLP is able to meet some specified performance indicators during this period. Although it may be still at its infancy stages of growth, Yes broadband division cum 1Besatrinet is expect to outshine YTLP’s core utilities business as one of the key earnings drivers for the Company moving forward.

Although YTL Power Seraya facing stiff price competition, but as market leader command 25% of Singapore electricity market share, only the most efficient players will be able to remain competitive and sustain in Singapore growing and lucrative market. YTLP is confident that it can minimise impacts of the inevitable margins compression through prudent cost management measures and prioritising operational efficiencies to drive down unit cost of generation.

Already starting April onwards, Singapore gov has granted power producer to increase power traffic rate by 0.08%, these will a least can further cushion profit margin pressure. In addition, strengthen Singapore dollar against RM (appreciate 4%) also further mitigate margin pressure and safeguard Power Seraya as second YTLP earning contributor.

Keep it for yourself. Erase it after read.

I listened someone said they met up with Ministry of Transport last week. And they are in the good position to secure big portion works of the KL-Singapore High Speed train project.

I "saw" the guy weared YTLPOWER shirt talking to some businessmen at my working place.

Can anyone tell me how high chance can YTLPOWER secure the contract?

If indeed YTL Group secured the KL-Spore HS train project, I don't think YTLC will use YTLP as project leader/manager

I have no firm answer for your doubt/guess. I think no one in the Giant corporation like to put profitable project under Mother Company/Holding Berhad. I believe you got my point why they do so.

YTL corp control 57% YTLP, although under YTLC balance sheet, it show have as much as RM 12 billion cash but in actual, most of these cash hoard is from YTLP, about RM 9 billion. I think YTLP rather than YTL corp is use to bid KL-Spore HS train project. This is multibillion project and only YTLP have such financial strength to bid and the return of the project is should be base on build, operate and transfer in which the KL-Spore HS train project is like 30 year concession base, which suit YTLP business model, derive consistent, steady from infrastructure/utilities business (Power, water and sewerage, broadband 1BestariNet)

hng33

The ideal is YTLP secure KL-Spore HS train project under build, operate and transfer with 30 year concession period. YTLP with its strong balance sheet, under 20 equity: 80 debt raise capital to build KL-Spore HS train project, repay under 30 year concession before its transfer back to Gov

The construction part is sub-con to company under YTL conporation like YTL construction, and use cement from YTL cement

Someone told me UEM and YTL group are favourite to win KL-Spore train project. One advantage UEM has is to build track along North South Highway PLUS. This will minimise cost of acquiring land

Sime has proposed to dispose of its power business (75% stake in Port Dickson Power) for RM 300m to Malakroff. These Port Dickson Power have 4 x 110MW gas fire power. The RM 300m value these 440 MW to book of 1.8 times based on effective power capacity 330MW (75% stake of 440 MW Port Dickson power plant). The expire date of these IPP is until Jan 2016......4 month later compared to YTLP IPP expire date Sept 2015, which imply YTLP power plant with 1210 MW should have intrinsic value of RM 1100m/RM 1.1 billion or 16sen/share

1.1b for disposal value, if let it run dry till expiry, how much profit can it generated ?

hng33

Posted by hng33 > 2014-04-08 14:35 | Report Abuse

Based on Sime record, its 75% Port Dickson Power have 4 x 110MW gas fire power generate net profit RM 77.3m pa. Therefore based on disposal price of RM 300m for its 75% stake in 440MW and remaining effective IPP before expire Jan 2016 (20 month profit = RM 128.8m), it imply surplus of RM 171.2m. However, the power plant itself have book value about RM 221.5m, therefore despite going expire IPP, its assets still value RM 171.2 in these disposal deal

hng33

20,311 posts

Posted by hng33 > 2014-04-08 14:42 | Report Abuse

Similarly, if the valuation apply to YTLP power plant, based on IPP net profit of RM 250m pa, remaining lifespan about 18 month = RM 380m profit. The power assets for 2 power plant site with total capacity 1210 MW should value about RM 700m = total value if YTLP opt for disposal now is about RM 1.1 billion

If you notice, first Generation IPP like Powertek from Tanjong and Genting sanyen from Genting disposal to IMDB and now Sime Port Dickson disposed to Malakroff, all is because these power player wan to totally exit from Msia power field. Unlike them, YTLP still keen to continue to be power player, and bid aggressively in the open tender. That why YTLP will continue keep its IPP even until expire after Sept 2015. The power plant assets is still valuable and its highly possible grant extension like what is expect from 1MDB acquire going expire Powertek and Malakroff acquire Sime Port dickson power plant
