i think ytl-cement shareholder will prefer to hold ytl-cement shares than a enlarge ytl-corps shares, look at how lafmsia and tasek shares prices perform and their dividend payout.

it will be a better deal for ytl-cement shareholders if the company is stand out as a separate entity.

Agreed, but its postmortem scenario, YTL cement share trade is sideway at most at that time. Cement earning mainly rely on boom in property sector + construction, which is relatively slow, only pick up significant from 2012 onwards. Therefore, YTL foreseen its cement earning will be kicker and take advantage of market unknown and launched take over and caught market surprise by given reason that YTL cement share is illiquid and offer share swap at minimum premium to justify their swap ratio (RM 1.41 x 3.19 = RM 4.50) as well as highlight enlarge YTL benefit and diversification business.

Well, as take over is earning accretive to YTL, share price trade above its reference price of RM 1.41 to about RM 1.48 (actual offer price RM 4.72)and after the offer seal, YTL share price continue to surge until it trade above RM 2.00 (actual offer received RM 6.38), in which YTL cement share holder pocket more than 40% gain if opt to received share swap in less than 3 month.


If investor still wan to keep direct exposure to cement sector, can then use capital gain from YTL cement t YTL to buy lafmsia and tasek, which at that time still at low PE and low share price level.

ya, thats will be the perfect move and perfect timing... but sadly nobody is perfect kikiki...

so i still think all the ytlp shareholder will be benefit more to hold ytlp stocks than a enlarge ytl-corps stocks, because ytl-corps is big conglomerate, it earning derived from many sources, so the earning is less predictable , hopefully when yes4g start pouring money in the company, ytlp can resume paying their high% dividend... then all the shareholder will be very happy.

when this kind of situation happens (share dividend distribution comes late, more than days after the ex-div for instance), what could we do if the share price keep dropping? i can't even cut loss right especially when we don't have the share..

There is lack of catalyst for YTLP at the moment, still waiting for share buyback to resume back after share dividend redistribution.
