Suspect the 1.88 is not from YTL sbb, it could some other party try to mark it up. Will confirm later in the announcement.

TA trader may want to mark up 3 sen to closed at 1.88 in order for chart look more convincing. Anyhow, soon or later YTLP need to increase bid also, let wait and follow next week.

Its normal. TA trader mark up mum share and sell son at higher price to reap higher percentage gain.....Already happen last week...again and again it will happen again.... nothing to worry as most of the day volume range 70-80% is absorb by YTLP sbb everyday. Mum volume will become lesser everyday as only have accumulation by sbb, not take profit on strength nor distribution back to market, as all keep in YTLP treasury stock.

Announcement for AGM early nov. and meeting late Nov. This meeting include proposal for amendments to the articles of assocition of YTL Power. I think this to reduce par value from 50 sen to 10 sen and 40 sen capital repayment to shareholders.

If there is capital reduction and repayment, warrant exercise price will be reduce accordingly.

Posted by Lollipot Anison > 2013-10-19 10:29 | Report Abuse

sorry I'm new to this share but is privatization is happening? Is it still safe to enter? and between mother and son which is more worth to invest at the moment.

It's more like preparing the privatisation... no point to have the capital reduction when they are keen to privatise it with share swap....

with YTLP cash holding and EPS... fair value to privatise is between 2.20-2.40... and the privatisation should announce between price 1.90-2.00... not much incentive for the funds manager to buy the mother.... still ok to collect YTLP-WB as long as the price is below 0.80...

YTLP has announced going to amend articles of association during next AGM. What do you think of the this amendment ? I believe it will be reduction of par value and capital return of RM 400 per 1000 unit to share holders. It is a 21% return relative to current price. Than share swap will be between two companies of 10 sen par value...,,,

Its just one of the possibility. With the completion of its massive project 1 BestariNet and fully coverage of Yes Wimax throughout West Malaysia, YTLP capex is almost fully deploy, only left East Malaysia, in which YTLP will opt selective to cover only at dense populated area. It is time YTLP to bear low hanging fruit and gradually realize handsome profit. It 1BestariNet concession cover 5yer with extension under additions 5 + 5 year period, ensuring stream of income from lessening fee + maintenance and operation fees, about RM 500m pa.

The capital reduction via par value reduction, and subsequent repayment depend on whether YTLP no longer need huge capex in short term, have surplus of cash which if payout, can be build back via stream of income in future like cash cow. It could also due to the fact that YTL itself may need cash to tender HSR or other oversea venture like Airport, hotel resort etc or wanna to reward YTL shareholder with lump sum dividend, which Yeoh family entitle the most.

However, capital reduction and repayment need to get court order and need at least 6-9 month to complete.....which i think may not suit FY style as his tend to wan quick business solution.

Special dividend!? unlikely, YTLP has opt not to payout cash dividend already, instead, YTLP resume share buyback, so far already buyout more than 7.7% (inclusive 3.5% cancellation stake).

1. If capital repayment, warrant price will be adjusted according.
2. If cash dividend, warrant won't adjusted, but will prompt warrant holder to convert for entitlement.
3. If privatize via share swap, both YTLP and WB will swap at certain ratio to YTL share
4. If privatize via cash, both YTLP and WB will entitlement for cash after taking into account conversion price, but no premium to warrant as it won't take into account time value for warrant lifespan.

YTLPOWER scenarios...

1) Best scenario, to get the project 3B award by this month or latest next month. The next TP will be 3.50-4.00. http://www.st.gov.my/index.php/applications/energy-efficiency/registered-electrical-energy-managers/134-english/tender/425-2000mw-coal-fired-power-plant-open-tender-shortlisted-bidders-pursuant-to-project-3b-pre-qualification-process.html

2) Second scenario, privatize at 2.20-2.30... YTL to keep the cash for the High Speed rail project between KL-SG.

Project 3B is coal fire power plant, which i think Malakroff have upper hand due to its experience in exiting power plant, whereas, YTLP only have experience in operating gas fire power plant. However, YTLP may offer best and most competitive rate t add edge to win these project as it financial strength can afford slim margin and have urgency wanna to replace its expire power plant in 2015.

Other competitor have their respective fincancial concern and laiden with high debt burden namely:

1. Malakroff: delay in listing and dispute over payment with Petronas and TNB)

2. 1MBD: Highest debt and only partial is secure and guarantee by Gov, needed capital to meet bond repayment and interest bearing cost erode cash flow. Urgently need listing.

3. TNB: As power producer and sole taker have been criticized by all IPP player due to monopoly status and unfair competition.

Technically and financially YTLP should be able to get more IPP projects in Malaysia, but they are also facing backlash by certain group of people.... http://www.theedgemalaysia.com/highlights/258781-graft-watchdog-moots-rci-on-secret-deals-with-ipps.html

I have contradict view, it is indeed a good news for YTLP. This is because YTLP exiting power plant concession is expire in 2 year time, Upon expire, these power plant in actual still able to generate power. If YTLP grant an extension even at much lower rate, YTLP is more than willing to accept it. No hassle to build another power plant which is skyrocket cost/ secure financing/ take another 2-3 year to compete....Just let YTLP continue use exiting power plant to generate power is much more cheaper, offer much more lower cost than any IPP as YTLP is willing to accept smallest profit slim upon expire concessionaire just like what Power seraya do in Sinapore. In the end, the most efficient power operator will stand out and win market share despite only enjoy 6-8% net profit margin

YTLP sbb already cancel first batch 3.5% treasury in last Aug and current still have 4.25% in treasury, Which mean in actual, YTLP sbb still able to accumulate up to 10% or 5.75% more.

Remark: The share buyback is up to 10% share volume, but if some or all these 10% is cancel, the sbb entitle to buyback additional 10% more based on reduce total volume (after first 10% volume reduction)

Posted by come2winner > 2013-10-21 11:57 | Report Abuse

Thanks hng33 for the detail explanation. In this case, I believe the sbb will able to continue till the coming AGM.:)
