So I need to pay RM1 to buy Preference Share, in the future I need pay another RM1 to convert into mothershare.

Total RM2 for currently RM1.27 sunway share.

Seem not like a good deal even got dividend of 5.25% for 4 years (around RM0.21)

if you pay through the TIIH , the fees involved is RM 15. RM 5 handling fees, RM 10 stamp duty

@Adam Lim, according to my understanding, is like that,
in TIIH, you pay RM1 for the "subscription fee"
in future, you pay RM1 for the "conversion fee"

i read the prospectus again at https://www.bursamalaysia.com/market_information/announcements/company_announcement/announcement_details?ann_id=3103114, on page 77, it said : "NO additional cash payment is required from ICPS holder for such conversion of the ICPS" , i think after 5 years, we do not need to pay another RM 1.00 to convert it to mother share if we already pay the RM 1.00 now through TIIH

anyone can confirm that?

Why Sunway PR?
1. 5.25% dividend based on RM1. If you able to buy PR at RM0.08, top up RM1, you will get preference share. The dividend yield is around 4.8%. This is a fixed figure as committed by Sunway Management for 5 years.
2. You can exchange preference share into Sunway Share at forth or fifth year. After 5 years, the right will be auto converted to Sunway Share. Means you are buying Sunway at discounted price, which is RM1.08.

You need to have right to convert to preference share. Else need to buy in market based on the market price.

pay one time only mah, rm1 for the icps, conversion into ordinary shares no need pay liao. so lets say you bought PR @0.05 today, then you pay another rm1. means you total cost only 1.05 per sunway share. compared to 1.26 current price of sunway, you got discount of 0.21 sen per share which is about 16.66% discount. just that you need hold for 4-5 years. and not to mention 5.45% of interest. worth it la

Don't forget that share numbers will increase by 20% (1 for 5) causing dilution in the future with major shareholder converting the preferential right share. Basically this is like Rights Issue with interest payment to holders. If you think Sunway share can be lower than RM1 in future, why not buy then. Also, if Sunway is to face cashflow problem with defaults on interest payment, we may not get anything.

finally got people notice the value of sunway-PR... 8 cents plus RM1 subscription... is RM1.08 cost only... and it is 1-to-1 auto conversion to sunway share without cost on 4th & 5th year... now Sunway price at 1.28... it was 15% discount... somemore IPCS got 5.25% fixed dividend... don't know why people just simply throw their PR without calculating...

if you buy 1000 unit sunway-pr, you entitle to subscribe 1000unit preference share at RM1... if you are using nominee account, just need to communicate with your broker to subscribe it digitally. if you are individual account, then process is the same as normal right issue, you need to fill in the manual form to subscribe, and there is a way to do it online as well, talk to your broker...

Sunway's ICPS - the right =5.5sen add RM1 = RM1.055 , share price =RM1.24, big safety margin. First year to third year dapat dividend 5%+ p.a.

4th year - 50% of the ICPS will become ordinary shares, tak perlu tambah duit. 50% balance dapat dividen 5%++

5th year - the balance 50% bertukar kepada ord shares tanpa bayaran tambahan...


ICPS juga akan didagangkan sehingga tahun ke 5 apabila baki 50% ditukarkan kepada ordinary syer.

Subscribing the ICPS - 5%++ dividend till dapat balik semua ordinary shares.

So, fixed dividend income + potential capital gain from 4th & 5th year... Sunway is very diversified, so the risk is mitigated, etc.

There is confusion on CONVERSION PRICE from ICPS to mother share. Some say free conversion, some say need RM1. But look at page 78, it says "The Conversion Price shall be subjected to amendments from time to time..." Is this not a price that need to be paid when converting ICPS to mother share? Confusing isn't it.
