Sapura is not an important company to Malaysia. Petronas is. There are many other Bumi companies.

Even Petronas has no desire to bail Sapura out.

nicholas, you are not investing. You are gambling on a company with 10Bil debt. Then you look at the crystal ball and hope it will go up.

Since you have bought the shares, you are trying to justify your decision. I did not condemn you about your purchase.

Sapura may be delisted like MAS. The company business will be saved but not the shareholders. Thats what restructuring and bailing out is all about. Shares will have zero value.

Take a step back and be more realistic about the whole situation.

Petronas made huge margins partly because they corner the vendors and contractors on commercial and T&C aspects. Even COVID-19 standbys claims from vendor was not paid out. Obviously they can fly high on profit and claim healthy book. Even worst, most jobs today are lump sum type, back to back agreements, milestone payments, etc. They put more commercial risks to vendors and refuse to share the burden while they reap on the big profit
