Further to the Company’s announcement made on 1 August 2016 in relation to the abovementioned Article as appeared in Focus Malaysia on 30 July 2016, the Company wishes to deny the statement which disclosed that the Company is investing some RM200 mil to build telecommunication towers for lease to an operator in Vietnam and the deal is believed to be in the final stages of negotiation. The Company is not in negotiation stage of any contract to build telecommunication towers in Vietnam but the Company is in the midst of negotiation of acquiring a Company which is a tower facilities, utilities and communication network for mobile and broadband operators.
Company acquisition, even better. Can provide recurring income straight away
The Board of Directors of OCK wishes to announce that Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (“Bursa Securities”) has approved the Company’s request for a suspension of trading of its securities on Bursa Securities from 2.00 p.m. Thursday, 4 August 2016 till 5.00 p.m., Thursday, 4 August 2016.
Usually a company will request for suspension for trading until they make an important announcement. If its good announcement, then the shares will be up for GRABs once trading resumes.UMA will not query once share price fly. I anticipated this will be a good one.Good management team ,good company in good hands..
PETALING JAYA: OCK Group Bhd’s 60% subsidiary, has inked an agreement to fully acquire Southeast Asia Telecommunications Pte Ltd for US$50mil or RM203.5mil in cash.
Today, OCK Vietnam Towers Pte Ltd signed a conditional share sale and purchase agreement with Vietnam Infrastructure Ltd to acquire the entire equity interest in Southeast Asia Telecommunications (Seath).
Seath is the largest independent base transceiver stations (BTS) owner in Vietnam with 1,938 telecommunications towers.
Upon the completion of the proposed acquisition, OCK group expects to gain a steady income stream as the BTS stations have long-terms lease agreements with network operators in Vietnam.
OCK group managing director Sam Ooi said this acquisition would pave the way to enter the Vietnam market, which is one of the biggest in Asean, with many growth opportunities.
“Seath is an on-going and profitable business. As a result of this transaction, OCK will approximately have 3,000 tower assets across the Asean region by year-end,” he said in a statement today.
Zoom, Been absent from posting simply because I felt that until the PP was completed, there really wasn't much to talk about, other than pure speculation. The share price gyrating between 82 sen to 83.5 sen for the past 2 weeks with modest volume only highlighted my point.
The JV with CapAsia on 60/40 basis is clearly positive. Announcement said OCK to fund for their stake through internally generated funds, I think. Where is the money to come from? From the PP perhaps?
Since no details of the PP has been announced yet, CapAsia could very well still take a portion of the PP. Speculation again :-)
Then , we have to study if the price paid for the Vietnam assets are fair and reasonable or not...We will leave this bit to the Research or Broking Houses to tell us.
Which leads us back to the PP, again. If the market likes the acquisition, then presumably there will be keener interest on OCK tomorrow onwards. How that will affect the 5 Day VWAMP remains to be seen.
TQ UncleLim for the very insightful insights :-) looking to see you back here after pp price confirmed lol.
just a simple calculation, SEATH with 1938 towers, buying it at RM200mil, that works out for about RM103k per tower. I think its a good buy. a brand new tower costs around RM200k ish... just my 2sen la.... pls do more in-depth homework first.
with previous expected 4000 towers future cash flow calculation, OCK is worth 1.34. But with the addition of another 1700 towers, OCK is worth 1.70 easily. Speculation?, I don't call it speculation more less future estimation. Whether OCK pay too much for Vietnam deal? If you trust management, u will not going to even suspect or worry about it. Next Week will fly. hihihi..
Vietnam is expected to witness one of the largest growths in mobile broadband subscriptions in Southeast Asia together with Myanmar, Indonesia, Bangladesh and the Philippines, by 2021. The latest edition of the Ericsson's Mobility Report and the South East Asia and Oceania report, highlighting mobile network coverage and network performance, predicts smartphone subscriptions in Vietnam will triple from around 30 million in 2015.
