dont mean to be a party-pooper here but u need to look at calvin's review with a pinch of salt..... none of his recommendation is based on fundamental numbers, just assumptions..... this company has been continually making losses since June 2023, and there has been no recomendation to buy from anyone.... except Calvin and a few im guessing..... this will be a high risk high reward kinda venture.... and decide if you are up for it !!! happy hunting

thanks for the explanation @dragon328 ..... although I feel the proposal could have been done smarter, related party transactions are always frowned upon and malaysian companies shd take heed and learn from our western counterparts.... many use listed vehicles for their personal play, and worse when there is no tack at all in disclosing the news ...LOL

i read the full announcement and its so lame. lee states the main reason for the proposal being conflict of interest, well why didnt he think of the conflict when he first made the bid for shenton? he knew he was the ceo and he knew there would be conflict of interest and yet he made the bid and entered into the deal. therefore why cry wolf now? instead, he shd have simply stated that the he made the bid as timeline was short and if it went thru ioipgthe process would take too long and the bid could not eb made and therefore he took it unto himdelf to make the bid on behalf and now offers the deal to ioipg at cost and for full evaluation. if ioipg thinks its profitable then it can take it otherwise it can drop it, simple as that. now since he said the reason being conflict of interest, how if ioipg drops the deal? he will be left with the deal as well as the conflict of interest. what a lame approach, his lawyers shd be sacked if you ask me. also u thinm singapore will simply dit idle and see the deal being juggled by the winning bidder, perhaps sing will recind the offer then? junior lee is so unlike senior lee, if dad was around he would have taken the bull by its horn....adoih, just my 2 cents worth..... what u guys think? dragon328?

mahb is a classic case of politics and useless sentiments against the west hurting the real valuation in terms of economics..... I mean if you dont like starbucks and decide not to drinks its coffee is one thing, but totally de-linking all israel related funds will spell disaster as they are deep into the world economics.... unless you want to live a life of hermit .... YTL PER is already at 18x..... and if 20x is the target then there is little upside im thinking. The delay in HSR status is not helping the price, with only upside being ytlp 55% equity consolidation. YTL will have to compete with Sunway, Suncon, Gamuda and IJM..... and my take is that YTL is lagging on contract wins of this list....

@Sslee.... TQ for your continued analysis on the numbers, but few things u need to know.... for example current liability lease if cannot be p;aid in 1 year will be just rolled over to next year - no big issue here..... dont be bogged down too much by the accounting, as as I said accounting is only a measn of measurement and when push comes to shove there is always a way out of it. Furthermore, more importantly business is booming, capacity is increasing.... banks are lining up for financing, what else you need? Its the best run budget airlines in the world for goodness sake.... if not the best run airlines in the world !!! How can one go wrong? Covid is the only blemish in airasia books of which it somehow survived and coming into the black..... try being optimistic lah :-) cheers and happy hunting

Digital bank loss targeted for the year is RM160-170m.... of whioch aeoncr owns 50% therefore 80-85m a year or 20-21m loss a year, which is reasonable considering they are targeting at least 10% increased in receivable financing.... happy hunting :-) guys

@Sslee ... growing net current liabilities means that business is growing, transactions are increasing and obviously working capital will increase. The current assets in the 3 period also increased, which again proves business is growing, nothing extraordinary here.
March24 qtr reported a loss before tax of -RM249m, but same period reported a net operating cashflow of RM835m, which is AFTER paying operating lease of planes. This is very healthy.
In fact the RM249m loss is mainly due to the recognition of exchange rate loss of RM371m.... otherwise it would have been a profit.
Airasia will probably match if not beat SIA performance moving forward.... but what it needs to do is get out of the current PN17 mess... and for that tony is a master planner, and I believe the restructuring plan in place will succeed, albeit some capital reduction (less shares in hand after conversion).
Lastly, IFRS and accounting policy changes has never brought any company down.... companies go down due to mis-management and wrong business model..... both of which are not present with CapA. Happy hunting :-)

what 2 counters took super beating during covid and now on the uptrend ? Genting and AirAsia.... questions to ask?
1) Has the business flow reached pre-covid levels?
2) Has the price normalised?
3) Are there any hiccups (ie. CapA PN17 status) that shd be considered?
4) Will the next quarter results bring the business to pre-covid level profits?
Those who can answer these questions will have the answer of to hold or NOT to hold.... happy hunting :-)

I guess thats the whole risk of warrants, especially even higher risk when the mother shares are either thinly traded, or low circulation. There is no need to fight anyone..... its market forces at play. Naturally, you cannot compare against the big buys..... like Tenaga, or Mah Sing, or Sunway..... because there are many and active traders out there. If you decide to play with a small counter.... its because you are expecting higher return.... but higher return will surely mean higher risk, and therefore this is a high risk game..... if you are willing to to play this high risk game then wish you all the best..... otherwise suggest access your risk level and invest accordingly.

Noticed one alarming data in the Qtr reporting, there is a RM201m increase in trade receivable (no details provided), while the revenue for the qtr was RM328m, meaning 61% of the sales is not collected !!! Furthermore during the quarter although the profit was RM101m there was negative operating cashflow of RM127m.... these are very alarming numbers, the trade receivable totals RM465m.... hopefully management is not "cooking" the books :-) LOL .... cud this explain the extremely low PER for a property development company? Anyone here has the answer?? ...... cheers and happy hunting

PART 2: CORPORATE GOVERNANCE MATTERS (2022 AGM)
Question 1
In FY 2021, the Group still suffered a Loss attributable to Equity holders of the Company
of RM1,369.7 million which is higher than the loss of RM1,024.2 million in FY 2020.
Under such poor financial performance, for FY 2021, all three executive directors as stated below still received substantial remuneration though there was a significant decrease for the Chairman/Chief Executive’s remuneration compared to FY 2020:
A summary of their total remuneration is as follows:
RM Million : FY2021 FY2020
(i) Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay (Chairman and Chief Executive) 100.2 151.3
(ii) Mr Lim Keong Hui (Deputy Chief Executive and Executive Director) 18.3 17.9
(iii) Mr Tan Kong Han (President and Chief Operating Officer and ED) 7.2 5.8
Kindly justify the two executive directors’ remuneration in the context of the Group’s
continued poor financial performance.
Reply to Question 1
The remuneration packages of Executive Directors relate to the Group. At Company level, there is no increment nor bonuses awarded to the Executive Directors.
The increase in the remuneration package for Mr Tan Kong Han is attributable by
increments and bonuses awarded and salary position against market and industry, in
particular for the Plantations sector. The remuneration package for Mr Lim Keong Hui includes performance-linked incentive payment which relates to remuneration earned for previous years’ performances before FY2020.

gold counters are a little funny, basically they buy gold and sell as finished goods, so if gold price go up rightfully demand shd go down, and gold becomes less affordable to people, therefore less transactions and therefore less profit but here its the opposite..... when gold price go up the profits of gold counters ho up also LOL ... can someone help explain this to me ah? Now the PE ratio has gone down to 4x which is undervalued.... so will investors buy and push the PER up?
