When ppl say 'You should be grateful', it is often in the context that yoi should be happy that things aren't worse

Posted by EngineeringProfit > 2020-02-06 21:45 | Report Abuse

....hence complacency could be an automatic end result from this

Posted by EngineeringProfit > 2020-02-06 21:46 | Report Abuse

And literally it means ' TAKE A STEP BACK' if comes from a half baked leader

Posted by EngineeringProfit > 2020-02-06 21:48 | Report Abuse

The attitude of gratitude is a must if we were to live happily every day.

But complacency (anti-disgruntlement/contradictory ideas) is bad.

For example, Human has shaped and reshaped the standards, principles and practices over the millennia.(Still varies by geographucal areas these days)

From being oblivious with regards to slavery - to absolute disapproval

Stoning or bodily disfiguring/removal as a form of deterrent punishment - to community service under supervision

I have absolutely no idea what my generation did to enrich our democracy. We dropped the ball. We entered a period of complacency and closed our eyes to the public corruption of our democracy.(Wynton Marsalis)

Gratitude can breed complacency. Complacency breeds failure. Only the reformists survive.

Dear Tan Sri,
The lady show exemplary courage in how to face off a big bully President Trump
In a dramatic move captured on camera, Pelosi ripped up her copy of the President's speech after he concluded the annual address to Congress. Earlier in the night, the President appeared to snub the House Speaker by ignoring her attempt at a handshake
She said she felt "liberated" because she felt the speech was so outrageous, according to two sources.
Pelosi cited Trump's decision to award the Medal of Freedom to conservative radio personality Rush Limbaugh in the middle of the speech as an example of how Trump turned the State of the Union into a reality show and campaign speech.
Following the speech, Pelosi tweeted out a picture of her with her hand outstretched toward the President who appeared to be turning away from her. The caption said, "Democrats will never stop extending the hand of friendship to get the job done #ForThePeople. We will work to find common ground where we can, but will stand our ground where we cannot."

The White House Twitter account posted its own message, with references to what the President had addressed in his speech.
It read: "Speaker Pelosi just ripped up: One of our last surviving Tuskegee Airmen. The survival of a child born at 21 weeks. The mourning families of Rocky Jones and Kayla Mueller. A service member's reunion with his family. That's her legacy.

https://www.businessinsider.sg/trump-impeachment-republicans-too-scared-sherrod-brown-2020-2/?r=US&IR=T
• According to Brown, Republicans fear that if they speak out against Trump, the president will campaign against them and his allies with vilify them on social media and powerful platforms like Fox News.
• “In private, many of my colleagues agree that the president is reckless and unfit,” he wrote. “They admit his lies. And they acknowledge what he did was wrong.”

As of Mitt Romney the abuse from Donald Trump (son and father) will come in fast and furious.
Donald Trump Jr. posted a picture on Instagram calling Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) a “pussy” after the former GOP presidential candidate announced that he would be voting to convict President Trump on one of two impeachment charges. The picture featured Romney wearing high-waisted jeans, and was captioned: “Mom Jeans, Because you’re a pussy.” Trump Jr., who recently released a book titled Triggered, wrote: “Mitt Romney is forever bitter that he will never be POTUS. He was too weak to beat the Democrats then so he’s joining them now,” Trump Jr. ended his post by calling for Romney to be expelled from the GOP for being part of “the resistance.” On the Senate floor Wednesday, Romney announced that he would be the first Republican to vote to convict Trump of abuse of power. He said the president was “guilty of an appalling abuse of public trust.”

President Donald Trump tweeted a video Wednesday calling Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) a “democrat secret asset” after he voted to convict Trump on the abuse of power article of impeachment. The clip described the former 2012 Republican presidential candidate as “slick, slippery, stealthy” and suggested he had posed as a Republican and “tried to infiltrate the Trump administration as secretary of state”—referring to Romney being considered for the rolein 2017. “Now his cover’s blown, exposed by news reports as a democrat secret asset,” the video’s narrator says, while the clip shows a quote from a CNN article calling Romney the emerging “face of the resistance” to Trump. The video then shows footage from Romney’s 2012 loss against President Obama, followed by clips of Trump's victory against Hillary Clinton in 2016.

P/S: Award the Medal of Freedom to conservative radio personality Rush Limbaugh is aka to giving a Tan Sri title to Perkasa President Ibrahim Ali

Changes in the fundamental sociological framework of global society, due to the end of the population growth cycle - and with it the end of the economic growth cycle based on expanding market size - were beginning to become evident by the beginning of 2020. It was apparent that 2020 was likely to see a major evolution in this transformation.

Dear EngineeringProfit,
Is the end justifies the means? Is a good outcome excuses any wrongs committed to attain it?

Donald Trump was and still is a habitual liar and cheater and will do whatever (legal or illegal, ethical or unethical and moral or immoral) to win.

I think he is a danger to humanity. He lack of empathy, self retrospection and he is malicious, vindictive and is full of contempt for others”. Is he suffering from mental health of?
1. “Paranoia”: – mental derangement with delusions of grandeur, persecution, etc, abnormal tendency to suspect & mistrust of others
2. “Schizophrenia” – mental disorder marked by disconnection between intellect, emotions etc & action

Why the world is now full of sick minded bigots unable of critical thinking and worship wealth against spirituality/righteousness?

Thank you

Dear Tan Sri,
https://klse.i3investor.com/blogs/Sslee_blog/2019-12-07-story244757-Patriotism.jsp

Nationalism, ideology based on the premise that the individual’s loyalty and devotion to the nation-state surpass other individual or group interests.

Racism is the belief in the superiority of one race over another. The term may also mean prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against other people because they are of a different race or ethnicity. Modern variants of racism are often based in social perceptions of biological differences between peoples. These views can take the form of social actions, practices or beliefs, or political systems in which different races are ranked as inherently superior or inferior to each other, based on presumed shared inheritable traits, abilities, or qualities.

While the words patriotism and nationalism were once considered synonyms, they have taken on different connotations. While both are the feelings of love people feel for their country, the values upon which those feelings are based are very different.
Feelings of patriotism are based on the positive values the country embraces—like freedom, justice, and equality. The patriot believes that both the system of government and the people of their country are inherently good and work together for a better quality of life

History had told us, Hitler openly proclaimed his racialism as nationalism in order to gain support/blind royalty/power with “you are either with me or against me (the nation)”, the poison indoctrinate of racialism as nationalism which lead Nazi to power and blinded the whole German Nation into world war II.

“Patriotism is the exact opposite of nationalism,” Macron said. “Nationalism is a betrayal of patriotism. By saying our interests first, who cares about the others, we erase what a nation holds dearest, what gives it life, what makes it great and what is essential: its moral values.”

Thank you

how to judge a government? I like to judge a government on morals and ethics....preferably, good old Confucian morals and ethics.

as for Americans............America no need to talk.... America is a highly divisive society nowadays and it all started from its politics and refighting the old civil war. Morals and ethics hardly figures in any dialogue except as hypocrites...and the Donald is the worse world leader for a long long time.............nothing but a mad man with no morals and no ethics....just a narcissist probably mentally ill.........maybe Americans like that...........but Americans are mostly little Trumps themselves.

Dear all,
https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/opinion/2020/02/06/curbing-coronavirus-while-targeting-china/

Discrediting China is part of a larger geo-political drive that seeks to thwart China’s ascendancy. The aim is to ensure that the present hegemon, the United States of America, remains on top at all costs. A host of measures and moves – some economic, some technological, some related to security and politics, others linked to culture and human rights – have been adopted by those who are hell-bent on perpetuating their hegemonic power.

This is why some of the distortions about the current coronavirus threat should be seen in the light of disinformation about the alleged persecution of the Uighurs in China and the so-called suppression of the people of Hong Kong. The name of the game is the same: it is the targeting of China.

qqq3 is also the luckiest guy I had come across with a very understanding wife and able to be with the children while they are growing up and now the children are all growth-up, well educated and capable. What else a man can ask for?

The only fault with qqq3 is due to his boredom he developed this physiology condition of masochistic delight by provoking those more successful people than him in internet forum to trigger an angry and abusive rebuttal which he enjoy every moment of it. The best thing to do with this kind of people is deny him of his masochistic delight of getting beaten left, right and center into a pulp in an internal forum exchange.

Luckily qqq3 had found another enjoyment in cycling, where he cycling until his butt hurts like hell which gave him more enjoyable masochistic delight of physical pain. Haha!

Please convince hadi to be grateful with what they have now. Instead of doing some undemcratic things like trying to work on Pakatan Nasional.

Will he ever be righteous, colour-blind and grateful that the nation was saved by righteous people of al creeds in GE14?

Color blindness reflects an ideal in the society in which skin color is insignificant. The ideal was most forcefully articulated in the context of the Civil Rights Movement and International Anti-racist movements of the 1950s and 1960s. Advocates for color blindness argue that persons should be judged not by their skin color but rather by "the content of their character"(Martin)

democracy is very misleading........the founders of democracy never intended everyone to have the same rights to government positions or influence in government policies. ...not in ancient Greece, not in Republican Rome, not in the eyes of America's early leaders who were still running a slave economy when they declared America independent and a democracy.

actually most people are just not suited for a democracy. Even American democracy is not running smoothly.

Democracy and freedom are not the most important thing for a country to develop.............

of course, moral and ethics in government are important, stability in the country is important, ..........The CCP history gives a very good track record for developing a country. U need moral and ethics in government, strong leadership, stability, ability to plan long term and execute long term plans, ............many of these are just not possible in an unstable democracy.

and the people, the rakyat? The people and rakyat where know so much one? The people and rakyat can come to very wrong conclusions/ decisions.

For the people/ the rakyat....too much politics is unhealthy for the country, unhealthy for the individuals. and too much politics adds nothing to happiness.............Look at the HK black shirts looking for democracy and freedom....the more they fight, the more HK go down the drain..............

All the digging about Trump's past, highlighting past legal cases, or showing election numbers does not mean anything. Despite all that witch hunting and shaming he became the POTUS.

America got a president who cares about AMERICANS and not foreigners who squat there and enjoying dual citizenship. Trump cares about unemployment and made sure American's come first before any foreigners unlike some countries which imports labour and make their citizens unemployed or underpaid. He is a patriot and put the nation first unlike globalist.

Globalist are like poop flies, hopping from one fresh stool to another.
They should ask their home country government, why they cannot make their country as great as America.

Trump will be relected again! Wail and cry!
