Do you recall what happened ..arr? We anticipated it roaring loudly in the Year of the Tiger, but it turned out to be a paper tiger. And we were hoping for it to hop to success.. in the Year of the Rabbit, but it seems to be moving ..macam a tortoise this year.
Very depressed. I sold my YTL an only RM1.59 and dare not buy back (When sold, the news of AI has not out). So, I shifted to Genting after knowing that Dragon328 bought it in January 2023. Seeing YTL keeps going up and Genting keeps going down makes me feel very depress.
@ChloeTai, no need to feel depressed. Have faith and you will be rewarded handsomely.
Genting will have its turn for a great rally. Genting Singapore broke up SGD1.00 this morning, investors are slowly waking up to the huge potential of its expansion programmes Genting Sentosa 2.0.
I bought in Genting up to RM5.00 early this year but didn't feel depressed at all when its share price dropped to RM4.00. Instead I added more as I strongly believe Genting will soon break up RM5.00 soon. It is grossly under-valued now.
Its stakes in Genting Singapore is higher than its own market cap now, it means investors are getting the Genting Malaysia business, Genting Las Vegas, Genting Plantation, oil & gas business for free!!
Volume after lunch, probably due to reshuffle. So investors have confidence. Midstream, some taking profit with end of day volume. Looks good for Friday witching :)
It is good to to be optimistic but not at the cost of being unreasonable. I am supporter of Genting but feel the management are simply not with it ……the downturn began from 2010 …and since has been hit by external events like CV. But the downturn began much earlier. Why? Simple, the company is nit run like a proper shareholder company as the owner still holds large chuck over 40%! Therefore company is own by account, rewards himself with highest CEO payouts despite huge under performance ….his pay is more than some of the big international business ..eg take for example Rolls Royce U.K. aero engine manufacturer …a very technical company….yet the brilliant ceo earns less than half of Gentin ceo! Also buying companies such as Empire with suspect valuation….these are serious Governace issues nobody is willing to tackle! Let’s hope we remain lucky woth TauRx as I can’t see these guys marketing the company.
Given the underperformance of share price ..you would think a change in management is warranted! Shareholders simply are sheep…sLeepy…foreign holding is minuscule and they are not active shareholders if they were they would address the governance issues.
RISK 8888 there is a reason….it is private brokerage company! 44 % plus holdings and friends who don’t question anything …is a major governance issue…..share price is not driven by performance of the company but demand / supply of shares in the market …these can be controlled of you hav every big shareholding. Companies generally with small ownership holdings do much better ….than ones with large holdings and same management! No new blood or thinking ..personal,bank account.
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
