For those who are fearful on hedging loss, kindly check on the below

In summary, hedging done by HY is absolutely mandatory as pure refiner unlike PetronM (who's selling price is naturally hedged by the retail price that floats) to secure refining margin (else, HY would be considered a trader). The hedging loss is purely a delayed gain that will be reflected on the following month and vise versa for hedging gain.

There is really no other way to go about it.

此外，被巴菲特狂买的西方石油也在周二盘后公布了第二季度业绩，季度净利润达到37.55亿美元，同比狂飙36倍多。

= MYR 846 million gross profit

and you only need a gross profit of 500 for EPS of RM 1

Commodities play and thin volume trading range. Expected. Good job for those who have cashed out 4.40 above. Big boys have so much mercy. Oil price normalizing benefiting sectoral but impacting the stock further. The share price tumbled during the oil price peaking. Imagine the other way round ? No brainer.

@probability: hengyuan profit doesn't seem to be correlated to diesel crack spread especially in 2018 and 2019. Any comments on that?

number of shares only 300 mil, so net profit of RM 300mil will give EPS of Rm 1/ !!! Dont understand why many wants to see HYuan go down to RM2. Even below RM 4/, there will be many buyers. In 2017, even with crack spread of around USD 10-15, price was above Rm 8 !! The most under rated share cos of fear of Derivative loss, which may turn to derivative gain !! Europe, Asia all stupendous gain for Refiners, why is Malaysia exceptional when refining capacity is limited ? Will be like TSH, now only starting to move, watch out. !!
