YTL need to focus on the bigger picture. There are plenty of attractive alternatives offering long term plays beyond what they have in place today (eg through innovation and product development). This is a buyers market. Utility plays good, but YTL are too heavily reliant on them - e.g. take those away and what is left..?

Even though there is privitisation of YTL Power, it will be offered with TA shares and there will not be any cash offer. It is usually at the advantage to YTL and at the expense of YTL Power.

With 12 billion of cash on hand mainly in bank FD earning interest, and net profit 130 million averagely per quarter netting a 520 million net profit annually. They can launch takeover or privatizing subsidiaries easily from it cash reserve perspective.

I already anticipated the Yeoh family & YTL Corp's strategy more than a month ago after analysing the company's financial statements. They started with Yeoh family's buying up shares at the lowest price to increase their shareholding % in YTL & then they use YTL Corp's cash to push up the share price to RM 1.02 (this will continue further until the price go up much higher). In this way, the Yeoh family instantly made hundreds of millions paper profit from their earlier buying up of shares at very low prices. At first, it seemed like the Yeoh family trying to prop up YTL's share price to prevent it from falling lower but actually they already planned to use YTL's cash to push up the price later on. They have this insider knowledge, that's y they kept buying up YTL's shares when the price was below 90 sen. They knew that they will make hundreds of millions in paper profit as well as strengthening their hold on YTL.

HSR major project is postponed but I don’t think government will give project directly to previous vendors. PH will open tender to potential company in order to do it in lower costs but high quality. Ytl need to compatibles with many other company too, ?仙股。

@brisket and @themiddle - PM's statement of HSR being "postponed" is just a kind way of saying cancelled... He's just going to postpone it forever. That project is as good as gone for YTL. As for the Gemas-JB train, it will be going to the same "postponed" direction also. Our PM and FM already know the percent of fats in the project cost that was set to go to sultan and more importantly Najib and Ros, no way this project will get approved. Good luck to you Uncle Yeoh buying own share, this is SELLING TIME for us.

If u don't already know, YTL is still very profitable with strong cashflow each quarter even without the rail projects. What is more important is that it has the financial muscle to take up next big project with strong cash reserve backing of 12 billions. That is $3 billion dollars of cash reserve while still earning RM 500++ millions net profit annually. Do some math. This is buying time for us.

Leave it.. we dont need to hard sell YTL to other disbelievers. One has his/her own opinion and the other has right to defend his/her statement.. Leave them alone. Buy at your own risk... Cheers
