Ytl is good company, buy on weakness keep long term. Ph will give more project after clear all the debts

Posted by OnlyBigMac > 2018-06-03 23:28 | Report Abuse

@somersby why would PH give uncle Yeoh any more projects after he openly critized Tun's administration? Last time he said he was disappointed having to do business here because of corruption. That's why he focus in Singapore. Then openly support Najib Razak against Tun Mahathir. Now so many projects get cancellation, only left Gemas-JB train. Even that also under review now. If want to accumulate better wait first, sell now buy when drop to 0.80...

Nope brisket. I'm bullish on YTL now. Just looking at any buy opportunity. All the hsr n politics already priced in. Now a favorable geopolitical news about Tun M reviving Look East policy. Small good news for YTL coz they have good r/s with Japan.

@ WD40

There's one more project: Gemas-JB Double Tracking.
I'm not sure if this is priced in yet.

I highly doubt that one be canceled. Even if it canceled, His Majesty Sultan Johor might swallow up everything and make it happen. Johor sultan a bit fighter spirit. Won't be easily take any bully from Tun M.

Johor Sultan got a bit power over his state. Not like others. Last time he even got balls to say wanna break out from Malaysia when Najib not doing good job. He deep pocket, smart, his son also smart. He won't let something simply die. After HSR cancel, a lot of Johorean already complaint. Ph lost some popularity in Johor. Especially those working in sg now many say regret voting ph. If they cancel more johor projects, they backfire. Better they behave and continue the small projects to jaga hati Johoreans. Many Johoreans very angry over the Ting's Langkawi Dream proposal. If Tun M cancel all smaller projects... don't expect next round Johor still under ph.

Loonginv. Depends on where u stay n work in sg la... all those jurong & puteri area people cursed ph now. They voted for ph, but not agree to stop hsr. RTS for sure is needed. But also got some prefer KTM n HSR. not all love to get stuck in jam ok.

Gemas jb double track is more contribute towards the trade developement of he upper johor. We have over developement at the southern side. Need to develope up to segamat. Sultan knew he need a distributive strategy to maintain JB. He wants to develope whole Johor, not JB alone. RTS only benefits JB sg... but double track will improve trade up to segamat.

in fact, if both country try something to work on the custom clearance ie open more ctr, ppl would be happy d. oso, if they can build a sheltered walk way at causeway, ppl are willing walk thru. i myself used to walk everyday in old time since the old custom still in use.

Loonginv, still... open walkway will only develope JB sg... concentration developement is good but don't forget about distributive developement. Too much concentration in JB will back fire. Causing urban problem. You must have a distributive strategy to make segamat kluang area more attractive and profitable enough for the people to move there. You don't want JB tk become too crowded.

If they cancel double track. I think johor sultan will get pissed off. People who voted ph in segamat and kluang will also pissed off. The bigger price is losing whole johor seats. Don't think in the jb box. Ph also need to think of johor in whole.

HSR scrapped is just a temporary setback, ytl still very profitable with existing businesses especially the utilities being its cash cow earning in excess of 500 millions net profit annually. This titan has 12 billion cash on hand will prepare for next big project lahh. Its once a year dividend payout will be announced in due course so keep your shares until then.

I can sleep well with power & water concessions that are rather there to stay than highway tolls risked to be scrapped.

Better idea to wait for our new FM to reveal more from the MOF Red Files. The Gemas-JB train project's extra juicy fats due to the Sultan will cause the project to be cancel like HSR and others. @wd40, Sultan is powerful in Johor but I don't think even he willing to take out his own money to finance this train project himself when PH govt cancel it.
BTW who got awarded the RTS project? Is it to YTL?

OnlyBigMac don't forget sultan got good r/s wist sg n china. They will support him for the tracks after hsr kaput. Coz they also need alternative trades to be done for forest city development. After hsr kaput, double track is their backup plan now.

I think they will change some tracks and stations. Put one station near Iskandar or Gelang Patah just to please ppl voted for old Lim. Then, merge the tracks somewhere to Gemas. The tracks are not focus on passengers... more for commodities deliveries.

Read the news said possible "revive" of HSR. I suspect they took Trump strategy: cancel all previous gomen project, then start new projects under ph with new name but the same thing inside... all these aee just for political merits so that people tot ph is the gomen who develope all these, not bn... hmmm

WD40 merge the tracks somewhere to Gemas? Think you should study the map first before comment. So ppl travelling via HSR, have to go Gemas and bypass melaka for? ANd Gelang patah stop ady located in gerbang nusajaya, UEM sunrise land, GLC company land dont want to use, just to please Old lim?? Locate gelang patah, who untung? who is the land owner?

The price of YTL was flat (no up & no down) for the past few trading days.... but today & next few days we may see the price move up significantly by a few cents.
