SINGAPORE - Malaysia informed Singapore on Thursday afternoon (Jan 31) that it has remitted $15 million as payment for the abortive costs the Republic incurred as a result of the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High-Speed Rail (HSR) project being suspended.

Singapore's Ministry of Transport (MOT), in response to media queries, said in a statement on Thursday (Jan 31) that it has received confirmation from the Malaysian government, through diplomatic correspondence, that the reimbursement has been made.

The amount was agreed last September when both countries inked a deal to suspend the HSR project for about two years, up to May 31, 2020. The reimbursement was to be made by the end of January 2019.

This company facing many potential headwinds, deregulation of electricity sector, political risk abroad, heavy legacy costs, slimmer margins despite higher turnover, etc Must innovate to get out of this. Investors look at bottom line first, eventually numbers go south if the business doesn't progress. Terragraph is like a Elastoplast, it won’t fix the fundamental issues. Can’t rely on government contracts as solution.

Whether get any more cement/construction projects or not, we all argue here also no use. Just look at the facts la. Everybody knows Francis Yeooooo's hidden partner is the Big Greedy down south and his 'Stupid Boy' son. We all know this, even PM Tun Mahathir knows this. No way Mahathir will give any more project to YTL because any money going to Yeooooo will end up with these 2 characters down south. YTL gone liao la, sell first and save our hard-earned money... 70sen also too expensive
