Yes, u right Gushan, nowadays stocks with good fundamentals also suffer eg. Media. At least yearly we still got dividend and if the price rise, our capital appreciated. Offset our losses less.
Better then bank FD but most important don't put all your eggs in one basket. Stock market is also like a casino. If not carefull, also can lost big... Now buy in, hopefully it don't fall further loh.

For ytl at current price, the down side is limited. Can buy and keep and earn dividend. Do not expect to have quick gain in short period of time.

if not everyday what Bursa earn, what agent earn... let say every 1,000,000 share admin fee is about RM14k, if EPF doing everyday (365days) do you know how much EPF need to pay annually ? is RM5million, but is it only 1,000,000 share per day? or more.....

It is not issue for consider dividend or sell b4 dividend to get the profit, your way to think is invest or speculation. more of the shareholder (90%) are consider invest nature, only small portion are speculator, even EPF, they hold 6% (5th bigger shareholder) but only small portion for in/out.
IF YTL is not stable, the richer wont invest and they know which counter to sit in. Your can refer to the report about the top 30th shareholder compare them for three years, they never leave but accumulate.
In and out will give your more? or you losing your money unknowingly? for my experience is losing unknowingly.

gushan YTL has paid about 30 sen in total for past 3 years (just using round number lah). Share price has come down from $1.70 to now at $1.40 So what is the gain? Seems like got nothing. Personally I think buy before announcement and sell when dividend news send the share price up.

But beware the risk is when people are expecting dividend and YTL decide not to give then gonna mampus lah. So beware the risks of trying to anticipate the goodies.

Look at the past record, YTL management keep their promise to give dividend at least 0.095/share. The lower the share price now, the higher the DY. Time will proof.

Ytl and Ytlp are now same price, about same dividend yield. But, in turn of percentage gain, I think Ytl is better than Ytlp due to its more larger and diversified business.
