DannyArcher don't misled people here about hedging rumors. during PKP AA has already revised their oil hedging to a very low oil price.so AA is in safe hand n will perform better

Don't give rubbish infor with no facts and truth. If you knew so much pls give us the infor when to leave and when to enter Airasia. If you sleep with Tony then I will believe you. Pls dont talk about US . US is Trump, the guy with mad cow disease. We talk about Muhyiddin . We talk about Malaysia.

For stock selections, traders should take profit on tourism-related stocks such as GENTING, GENM, AIRASIA and AIRPORT amid imminent pullback due to grossly overbought readings. - msg from my reminder this morning. Can hold LT or not, I wonder?????

“Every day of this year will add US$230mil to industry losses, ” Iata director-general Alexandre de Juniac said.

PARIS: Airlines are set to lose US$84bil as the coronavirus pandemic reduces revenue by half to mark the worst year in the sector’s history, according to the International Air Transport Association (Iata)’s forecast.

With most of the world’s airliners currently parked, Iata said revenue would likely fall to US$419bil from US$838bil last year.

“Every day of this year will add US$230mil to industry losses, ” Iata director-general Alexandre de Juniac said.

The average loss amounts to almost US$38 per passenger flown.

In 2021, Iata warned losses could hit US$100bil as traffic struggles to recover and airlines slash fares to win business.

“Airlines will still be financially fragile in 2021, ” De Juniac said, predicting “even more intense” competition.

“That will translate into strong incentives for travellers to take to the skies again, ” he added.

Iata forecast a rise in 2021 revenue to US$598bil.

Airlines are counting the cost of weeks of lost business, a debt pile swollen by bailouts and a diminished demand outlook.

Passenger numbers are seen falling to 2.25 billion this year before rising to 3.38 billion in 2021, still more than 25% below 2019 levels.

Yields, a proxy for fares, are seen falling 18% this year, contributing to a US$241bil decline in passenger revenue.

Cargo, a relatively small share of the overall business, brought some relief as mass plane groundings drove price increases expected to top 30%, Iata said, helping revenue to a near-record US$111bil.

Even in markets where Covid-19 infection rates have fallen sharply, airlines still face a patchwork of travel restrictions and wary consumers.

A 14-day quarantine for arriving passengers introduced by Britain this week has prompted an angry response and legal threats from the travel industry amid reports that it may be loosened in favour of “air corridors” to some destinations. — Reuters

If you think travel will be same as before again even after country open boarder, you are dreaming. I just bought an air ticket (not AA), one row of 3 seats only allowed 1 person seating. Airlines will be running at lost for many months to come, even they increase the price per ticket, Lost will continue till at least end 2021 or 2022.
