AA going to up to RM 5 in two years? No chance in two years time AA maybe able to get back to 80% pre covid level of traffic. The company are not going to take delivery of new jet for two years, so no expansion in their business. All the while they will be face with higher debt burden as they add 2 billions of debt to the balance sheet. Vaccine would take many months to manufacture and distribute after being approved. May take more one year to vaccinate most of the world.

Meanwhile the market for air travel had changed, maybe permanently. Business travel may never go back to previous level. And leisure travel are affected by prolonged economic downturn

for those newbie investors, just FYI, fund manager will not invest in a counter that trigger PN17 or in deep debt. Because any transaction by them will be questioned by auditors....and IB is not in a position like yours, a gambler. They got their own risk appetite and SOP when they do transaction. Otherwise, fund manager will lose their job. Just be realistic, AA counter only left retailers.

[BANGKOK] The Thai government is set to offer 24 billion baht (S$1.05 billion) in loans to seven local airlines to help them counter the blow from the coronavirus outbreak as authorities firm up plans to revive tourism by gradually easing travel restrictions.

The so-called soft loans should be enough to help the airlines survive the pandemic and avoid laying off 20,000 workers, Thai AirAsia chairman Tassapon Bijleveld told reporters after a meeting with Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-Ocha in Bangkok Friday. The carriers may get loans from state banks, led by the Export-Import Bank of Thailand, for a five-year period, he said.

Thailand is throwing a financial lifeline to its carriers as airlines worldwide have asked for bailouts, cut salaries and furloughed staff amid a near shutdown in global travel. Mr Prayuth's government is also intensifying efforts to revive the tourism and trade reliant economy that's on course for its worst crisis ever.

"The government is considering many relief measures and looking to find ways to ease flight restrictions, as well as measures to allow tourism in the country," Mr Prayuth said in a statement following a meeting with airline operators.

Our PM just announced RMCO to be extended until 31/12. Effectively, border will still be closed for leisure travels. As expected as Singapore government unlikely to open their border for leisure travel at least until 2021 too.
