Government will not open the border 100% IF C19 is not elevated entirely.

2. The MCO since March till Sept 2020, the whole Malaysia have experienced the tremendous losses in economics and jobs, therefore, they won't RISK IT for flights to FLY.

3. KKM is the leading org at the moment. They will NOT risk the increased of C19 confirmed cases.

Manufacturing contributes nearly 20 per cent to Indonesia's gross domestic product. But Indonesia’s efforts to revive the economy took a stumble as virus outbreaks forced factories in one of its biggest manufacturing hubs to shut.- Reuters

BENGALURU: Indonesian shares fell more than 1% on Monday, weighed down by a surge in new Covid-19 cases and the discovery of a more infectious mutation of the coronavirus in the country as the impact of upbeat Chinese services sector data faded.

Fears of a further surge in daily infections, already tracking above the past month's daily average in recent days, put the benchmark index on track for its worst day since August 3.

South Korean shares also sank more than 1% on a sell-off led by foreign investors worried by downbeat July factory data and tougher coronavirus-led measures to curb a new burst of infections.

Taiwan, another export-centric market was also lower and Daishin Securities analyst Lee Kyoung-min said the July data in South Korea, timed before the resurgence in Covid-19 cases, raised worries that economic indicators could worsen going forward.

He said the selling by foreign investors had focussed in the electronics sector. Emerging Asian currencies rose early in the session on the back of data showing China's service sector activity expanded at a much faster pace in August.

By the afternoon in Asia most had retreated, with only Taiwan's dollar and the rupiah booking gains.

The U.S. Federal Reserve's new strategy favouring higher inflation and growth has weakened the U.S. dollar since its unveiling last Thursday, despite signs it may push longer-term Treasury yields - a driver for the currency - higher.

Speeches by Fed officials including Vice Chairman Richard Clarida this week may shed more light on the policy and its potential impact on the currency.

India's rupee, fresh off its best week in two years, gave up 0.3% and stocks slid 0.8% ahead of June-quarter gross domestic product data which is likely to show a record slump.

Mizuho analysts forecast India's recovery to be stymied by "ongoing pandemic proliferation", which they said would hinder activity and lead to more fiscal constraints.

Markets in Malaysia and the Philippines were shut for a holiday. - Reuters

What’s even shocking, the data provided by MOH is not tally with actual cases reported in hospital. Government trying to reduce panic, but cases are still climbing behind our back.

AirAsia boss Tony Fernandes says he’s building the region’s next ‘super app’
Monday, 31 Aug 2020 06:20 PM MYT
BY SYED JAYMAL ZAHIID

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 31 — For AirAsia founder Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, there’s a silver lining to the Covid-19 pandemic.

As his budget carrier copes with the coronavirus downturn, Fernandes told BBC in an interview recently that he and his team are working on what he hopes will be the region’s next “super app”.

Details about the application are scant, but the AirAsia founder told the British news channel that he wants it to rival the likes of Grab, GoJek and WeChat with an all-in-one platform for food delivery, shopping, payments, entertainment and travel.
“The downturn was a blessing in disguise in some ways as it allowed us to focus more on it,” Fernandes was quoted as saying.

“Running an airline takes up a lot of our time but we have been given the opportunity and time to focus on our digital business.”

With a database of over 60 million customers, Asia’s biggest budget carrier already has a good starting point.
BBC reported that the AirAsia app, which will offer users a messaging service, has set its sights on multi-services super apps like Singapore-based Grab, Indonesia’s GoJek and China’s Meituan.
“AirAsia has always been a digital company. We were one of the first airlines to sell online. It’s in our bloodstream,” said Fernandes, also a major shareholder of English football club Queen’s Park Rangers (QPR).
“I know a super app sounds like a lofty target but Grab and GoJek also started out small as food or mobility apps. Plus people also questioned me the same way when I said I wanted to start AirAsia.”
The airline industry has been among sectors hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic.
AirAsia Group Bhd in July reported a net loss of RM803.85 million for the first quarter ended March 31, 2020, compared with a net profit of RM96.09 million in the same period last year.
But despite the significant challenges in the airline industry, the group reported breakeven earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (RM29,000).
AirAsia attributed the results to its proactive capacity and cost management, alongside strong performances from the non-airline businesses.
Last year, the company launched its own record label called RedRecords in partnership with Universal Music.
The fledgling label said it wants to discover and promote stars from South-east Asia who will appeal to a Western audience.
The first major signing, Thai pop star Jannine Weigel, has already built up millions of followers across social media.
“Boy, have we got something special with the record label,” Fernandes said.
“The Koreans have shown how Asian music can appeal to a global audience with K-pop and there is huge potential for South-east Asia.”

the cruise ship or airlines industry, Sama Saja. KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 31): Genting Hong Kong Ltd (GEN HK) announced the resignation of its controlling shareholder’s son Lim Keong Hui from the board. Keong Hui is the son of Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, who is the group’s single largest shareholder holding a 76% equity stake.

According to a filing with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange last Friday, Keong Hui stepped down as the executive director and the deputy chief executive officer of GEN HK effective Aug 28, 2020 to devote more time to other business commitments.

“Mr Lim (Keong Hui) has confirmed that he has no disagreement with the board and there is no matter in relation to his resignation which needs to be brought to the attention of the shareholders of the relation to his resignation which needs to be brought to the attention of the shareholders of the company,” said the filing.

Coincidentally, the resignation came one day after Kok Thay was redesignated as the executive deputy chairman of Genting Malaysia Bhd (GENM), which operates the hilltop casino in Genting Highlands plus casinos in the UK and US. Keong Hui is currently the deputy chief executive and executive director of GENM.

GEN HK, which announced a whopping net loss of US$742.59 million for the six months ended June 30, is confident of having sufficient capital to fulfil its financial obligations in the coming 12 months should its efforts, such as cutting costs plus capital expenditure and raising fresh capital, bear fruits.

The cruise ship operator said in its result release that its directors are in the process of seeking additional equity or debt funding from private investors and have received indicative letters from the investors, expressing interest to invest in one of the group’s cruise brands.

“The directors are in discussion with the investors on the terms and conditions of the funding and consider that there is a reasonable prospect that the group will be able to obtain the funding within the next 12 months from June 30, 2020,” said GEN HK in the filing.

GEN HK stepped into the limelight after it revealed that it opted to suspend all payments to creditors to preserve cash. Its share price then dropped to an all-time low of HK$0.29.

As at June 30, the group’s total loans and borrowings amounted to US$3.26 billion compared with US$2.739 billion as at Dec 31, 2019. The loans that are repayable within a year amounted to US$200.4 million.

Nonetheless, Gen HK’s board of directors is hopeful that the cruise operator will be out of rough waters given the efforts it is making to revive its financial health.

The group anticipates that the cruise operations will resume from January 2021.

Besides raising fresh capital, GEN HK said it is in the process of applying for long-term funding from the Economic Stabilisation Fund (WSF) from the German federal government to sustain its shipyard operation in Germany. The WSF was set up for the objective of reducing the damage caused to the German economy by Covid-19. Its shipyard operation bled gross loss of US$180.15 million.

AA saying they want to make a superapp is like i said i want to date Gal Gadot. AA is a company that are desperate to preserve cash while building a superapp is cash burning operation, Grab have USD $10 billion funding, the newer Gojek have USD $5 billion

all this talk of becoming a tech company is non sense, AA is not a tech startup and will they are not getting the funding required to be a tech startup

KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 31): Malaysia reported today one Covid-19-related death and six new cases linked to the pandemic, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said via Twitter.

Dr Noor Hisham said the new cases bring the cumulative number of Covid-19 infections in Malaysia to 9,340.

"The cumulative number of Covid-19-related deaths stood at 127,” he said.

According to him, there are currently 159 active Covid-19 cases in the country.

He said six patients are being treated in the intensive care unit today while another six, who have recovered, were discharged.

"The cumulative number of discharged patients so far stood at 9,054,” he said.

Today is the second consecutive day Malaysia reported Covid-19-related deaths. Yesterday, Dr Noor Hisham said one death was reported, the first fatality revealed in a month since July 31 this year.

In his official statement today, Dr Noor Hisham said the country’s 127th Covid-19-related death involved a 62-year-old Malaysian man who had a history of diabetes and high blood pressure.

The deceased died at 10:35pm yesterday, according to Dr Noor Hisham.

“The deceased was a positive case reported on Aug 13, 2020 within the Tawar Cluster (in Kedah),” he said.

On the six new Covid-19 cases reported as at noon today, Dr Noor Hisham said four were imported while two were locally transmitted.

He said the imported cases, which were reported in Selangor, involved four individuals who were infected in Singapore. The individuals comprise two Malaysians and two foreigners, according to Dr Noor Hisham.

Meanwhile, the two locally transmitted cases involved Malaysians from Kedah, one each from the Tawar and Telaga clusters respectively within the state, he said.

On the Tawar cluster, Dr Noor Hisham said the cumulative number of positive Covid-19 cases stood at 74 individuals after 16,462 individuals were screened as at noon today across Kedah, Penang and Perak.

Out of the 74 infected individuals, 63 were detected in Kedah while 11 were identified in Penang, he said.

Elaborating on the Telaga cluster, which was first reported yesterday, Dr Noor Hisham said 735 individuals had been screened as at noon today.

Out of the 735 individuals, five were identified as positive Covid-19 cases while the remaining 730 tested negative, according to him.

Superapp worth billion would just appear when you said so? AA got all billions of USD to hire all the expert and build up the platform to Blockchain and AI?

And billions more to aquire customer for the platform. AA is in desperation to conserve cash. How can it burn cash to build a superapp?

Even if AA can put one billion into this project it is more likely than not that a tech startup will fail. What will AA do if this costly project fail?

Complete nonsense, AA IT currently cannot even support their ticket system from crashing whenever there are high load.

AA will need to hire alot of very highly paid expert to build the superapp. data scientist and blockhain developer are never cheap.

The platform also need to rebuild at great cost

not worth invest on AA. Warren Buffet all sold his Airline share. Tony Fernandez mentor Richard Branson also file for Virgin Airline bankruptcy.

Predict it will be lower than 0.40 because AA keep post bad qr report and annual.

Virgin Atlantic -> bankrupt, Warren Buffett -> sell all airlines, US airline companies -> Laying off workers en masse after bailout loan conditions expire. Use brain also know airlines can't touch yet la. If u buy at 50c, ok la thats a decent price but 0.66c, with covid not seeming to end and lockdowns to continue till end of 2020 at least. The future is not bright for AA. I would buy if 40c. Even if AA comes out from this, they definitely will be hurt by the interest from all the new loans and not to mention the possibility of a rights issue. say what u will but it will never get back to a RM1.50 valuation anymore. Maximum RM1. The super app is even more of a joke HAHHA. Cant even handle high load in its own ticket system still wanna say develop app. Grab got Softbank funding and so many users but probably still haven't turn profit. See Uber dah tau. Air Asia now not even certain if can make it through next year.

AA should just focus on core business. Just look at the performance of Santan Restaurant as compared to the patron at the restaurant adjacent to it at MidValley Megamall. The revenue derived will not be sufficient to cover the high cost structure (rental, wages, utilities) etc.
