Also, don't get into football.

And most importantly no unrelated diversifications.

PARIS: Airbus has agreed to cut prices or reschedule delivery for hundreds of jets ordered by Malaysia's AirAsia to salvage a contract worth tens of billions of dollars with its largest Asian customer, industry sources said on Friday.

The restructuring deal resets relations between two of the industry's closest partners, torn apart by the financial impact of the coronavirus crisis, and lifts uncertainty over the fate of up to 400 A320-family single-aisle jets yet to be delivered.

Airbus declined comment, while AirAsia did not immediately reply to a request for comment.

The AirAsia deal does not involve cancelling jets on order but includes a new delivery schedule and price cuts or other improvements in terms, the sources said.

AirAsia said last year it would stop taking deliveries of all Airbus jets and review remaining orders.

Industry sources said it had also stopped sending progress payments to Airbus, prompting the planemaker to suspend plans to produce jets on order pending the new restructuring deal.

The deal comes as other airlines in Asia that have ordered hundreds of jets to secure their growth are in the midst of restructuring or are expected to press for relief.

Other suppliers are also expected to come under pressure to negotiate new conditions, one of the sources said.

Meanwhile, in related news, the financial services provider CGS-CIMB has pointed out the need for AirAsia Group to shore up the funds of its shareholders if it wants to avoid being delisted on Bursa Malaysia. The group is vulnerable to falling into the stock exchange’s Practice Note 17 (PN17) category, which relates to companies that are in financial distress, by January 2022, the Singapore-based financial services firm said.

Companies that fall within the definition of PN17 need to submit to the authority a proposal to restructure and revive the company in order to maintain listing status.

“Companies like AirAsia, where its auditor has expressed ‘material uncertainty’ regarding going concern in its audit opinion for FY20, will need to demonstrate shareholders’ positive funds of at least half of its paid-up share capital in order to avoid being classified as PN17,” CGS-CIMB said, adding that this means AirAsia Group has about five months to address its shortfall in its shareholders’ funds of just over MYR6.65 billion ringgit (USD1.59 billion).

I think letting Airasia fall to PN17 is the only way for airasia survive loh!

With PN17, only then airasia can ask for creditors, bankers and shareholders hair cut mah!

Short distance is via personal flying machine and EVs.

The price for red hot stewardess uniform kept increasing over the years. Rumors have it some guy has cornered the market for those used uniforms.

For the debt money is an issues, i agree. But do you remember AA is start from debt,? so why need to be afraid on debt?
Moreover the debt is due to more on covid. So after one day when coid ended, AA will be stronger.

The only thing I disappointed is the few years ago dividend (0.9) , too much and should use on debit or Expand your business (the gojek and AA ride... ) .

Haha TF bought AA from DRB Hicom for RM 1.00 which carried debt of USD 10 million.
This time round he will offer to buy out AA at RM 4.50 which happen to have negative equity of RM??? Billion. History repeat itself again.
