Boss mentioned no bonus issue plan for the time being, looking at the poor share price performance of its peers post bonus issued date.

Harta directors are spitting right into investor's face

RM 21 holders receiving RM 0.021 dividend... what a freaking joke!

Assume price now is RM 14, investors who hold from RM 21 would have lost RM 7 per share or RM 7,000 per lot

On top of that, they would get only RM 0.021 x 1,000 shares = RM 21 inggit dividend ( 1.5 %, for comparison, FD now is about 1.8% )

Investors still lost RM 7,000 - RM 21 = RM 6,971

You guys really need to reflect on the reality... Harta is such a big company earning millions, yet investors who helped them push up share price until new heights, gets rewarded with peanuts!

Wakakaka really pity

Investors who want to get high dividend yield.should go for Maybank, Uchitech, panamy ,malakoff which gives about 6 to 7% dividend yield but their share prices do not grow like the glove counters . Airasia overly ""generous ""by giving more than 100 % dividend last year ended up have to borrow 2.5 billion to sustain the business.

Seems like Harta wants to be a gentleman in this covid-era by not raising prices aggressively?

Their miserable retained earnings might not be sufficient for a bonus issue, but how about a share split? No retained earnings requirement. With a share price higher than TG and Supermax but with lower profits, it is obvious which share investors would choose right?

Interesting. If you take the number of shares floating in the market by TG, SuperMax, and Harta. Your comparison is a bit off.

Besides, from my limited Chinese proficiency reading the article, Hartalega is also prioritizing customer relations and intending to take care of labour rights issues further than what has already been done in August. Another thing, there is new line of medical product specifically targeting covid that is awaiting for medical approval in US.

Which of the glove companies do you think have a brighter future?

Idk. You decide lo.

Comparing the the profits in whatever metrics from all these companies while ignoring the number of shares outstanding and stock price is just ridiculous.

For now, supermax can goreng but can die oso.

If TG, I personally won't touch within a 10 foot pole unless it goes to 6 - 7 this week. Anything you'll just be the victims of the goreng kakis who are currently HOLDING over there.

For mid term (think the next 3 years), harta will be the underdog winner of the three. Good future whether you sell or hold.

that's all from the Oracle of Pekan.

Well. TG boss bought what price leh? Between 6-8? Averaged out is closer to 7.

Harta boss oso bought o. Not yesterday when it was cheaper, but today.

Then, going by the goreng kaki's logic, y'all should buy on Thursday morning AGM or not. Hmm

economic news
He Tejia: the necessities of the new normal, the demand for gloves will not drop in 3 years
September 15, 2020

(Kuala Lumpur, 15th) He Tejia (HARTA, 5168, main board health stock) believes that even if the vaccine is successfully launched, in the new normal environment after the epidemic, the global demand for gloves will not decrease in 3 years.

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a surge in global glove demand. However, with the news that vaccine development is going well, many investment bank analysts have lowered their profit forecasts for glove companies after the second half of 2021.

However, Guan Jinan, Executive Chairman of He Tejia, is not worried about this and believes that the global glove market demand will not decrease in the next 3 to 4 years.

He said at a press conference after the shareholders meeting today: "I think some analysis reports are too conservative. They think the demand for gloves will decline in two years or even the second half of next year, but we don't think so."

No fear of new business competition

Guan Jinan pointed out that COVID-19 has affected people's behaviors and attitudes towards health and safety. Therefore, under the new normal, there is still a demand for gloves.

"Before the epidemic, the global demand for gloves increased by 8% to 10% every year. Now because of the epidemic, the demand for gloves has soared by 120 billion. I think that after the epidemic has dissipated, the world will still need these 120 billion gloves and continue to maintain it. The original growth."

"The change in hygiene concepts is particularly obvious in developing countries. Before the epidemic, each person in developed countries used an average of 30 gloves per year; but in developing countries, including China and India, each person used an average of 3 to 5 gloves per year. The data will definitely climb upward."

Due to the soaring demand for gloves caused by the coronavirus epidemic, many companies are interested in joining the glove manufacturing industry, but He Tejia is not worried about these competitions.

Production capacity will increase to 95 billion

"Building a new factory and passing various approvals is a long process. Even if He Tejia has been in the glove industry for so many years, it will take us at least 15 months to make major changes; this is too difficult for a new company. ."

He Tejia can now produce approximately 38 billion gloves a year, and at the same time expand its new generation of integrated glove manufacturing square (NGC).

The expansion plan for NGC 1.5 and NGC 2.0 is expected to be completed in fiscal year 2027 and will expand production capacity to 95 billion.

The attendees also included Chief Executive Officer Guan Minliang and He Tejia Executive Director and Commercial Director Guan Minjing.

Guan Minjing (from left), Guan Jinan and Guan Minliang share the company's future prospects with the media.

Responsible for delivery within 1 year

Guan Jinan also emphasized that at the moment of the outbreak of the epidemic, it is He Tejia's more concern to maintain a good relationship with customers and to tide over the difficulties together.

He also emphasized that He Tejia’s policy is to limit the delivery time to one year in order to be responsible to customers.

"We must maintain a good relationship with our customers, so that our future will be better."

Guan Jinan also pointed out that He Tejia provides good benefits for employees and foreign workers, including dormitories with sufficient space for foreign workers.

"The dormitory we provide for foreign workers allows each foreign worker to have an average of 3.95 square meters, which is beyond the international standard of 3.5 square meters."

"The environment in which the employees live is acceptable to me, and there is no problem for me to live there."

"This is also part of He Tejia's sustainable development."

Antibacterial gloves waiting for FDA green light

The impermeable antibacterial gloves first launched by Hetejia are still awaiting approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Guan Minjing said that because the impermeable antibacterial gloves are brand new products, the approval process is time-consuming, and the company does not know when it will be approved.

"Because this is a brand new product, the FDA needs to conduct a comprehensive review, and we are still communicating with the US authorities."

He Tejia’s shareholders’ meeting also recommended a single-tier final dividend of 2.1 cents per share for the 2020 fiscal year. This brings He Tejia’s total dividend for the 2020 fiscal year to 7.75 cents per share.

Guan Jinan also emphasized that the company will maintain its 60% dividend payout policy.

PETALING JAYA: The global demand for gloves is likely to continue outstripping supply for the next three to four years, even if a vaccine for the Covid-19 becomes available, according to Hartalega Holdings Bhd.

The world’s largest nitrile glove maker says the consumption of gloves worldwide will continue to increase because of changes in user behaviour.

Speaking at a press conference after the group’s AGM yesterday, Hartalega CEO Kuan Mun Leong said the Covid-19 pandemic has changed user behaviour, and that was driving up demand for gloves.

“Demand in developed countries has increased 30%, while in developing countries, demand has more than doubled, ” Mun Leong said.

Due to heightened hygiene and safety awareness, there is now a structural step-up in the use of gloves, he said, adding that this was why the medium-term outlook for glove demand would remain strong.

The industry, he said, was currently facing a huge shortage, with about 120 billion pieces of gloves as additional demand.

“This demand can only be fulfilled in three years, ” Mun Leong said, adding that the industry would not see an oversupply in the next three to four years despite players actively ramping up their production capacities.

Mun Leong pointed out that without the pandemic, global demand for gloves typically expanded at an average of 8%-10% per year.

Meanwhile, Hartalega executive chairman Kuan Kam Hon said the company was constantly expanding at an average rate of about 20% per annum, which was slightly more than the organic growth in the industry.

“For us, the situation for the next three years is that of supply not meeting demand, ” Kam Hon said.

“Even if we have extra gloves by the fourth year, it goes into inventory building. When you have a supply shortage, you are not able to build inventory, ” he added.

On capacity expansion, Mun Leong said Hartalega was currently accelerating growth through its next generation glove manufacturing complex (NGC) to to meet the demand.

“To date, we have commissioned 10 out of 12 production lines for plant six, while for plant seven, the first production line is on-track for completion by October 2020, ” Mun Leong said.

The group recently acquired a 24.23ha land in Sepang, Selangor, adjacent to its NGC plant seven, for RM158mil.

The group plans to build four new plants on that piece of land with an investment of RM1.5bil.

“The first line will start production in October 2021, ” Mun Leong said.

Upon completion, the four new plants would add 19 billion pieces per annum in installed capacity.

In addition, Hartalega is expected to invest RM3bil for its next expansion phase, code-named NGC 2.0 to build seven factories on a 38ha in Banting, Selangor. The first production line is expected to be commissioned in the first half of 2022.

Mun Leong said once fully completed by 2027, Hartalega’s expansion plans would see the group’s total annual installed capacity increase to 95 billion pieces per annum.

Hartalega’s net profit more than doubled to a record RM219.7mil for the first quarter ended June 30,2020, while revenue jumped 44% year-on-year to RM920.1mil.

Mun Leong said Hartalega is expected to continue posting better results in the quarters ahead, supported by rising average selling prices due to strong global demand for gloves.

Glove prices, he said, are now three times as high as they were in pre-Covid-19 days.

This quarter alone, spot prices for gloves jumped 30%, and he expected them to increase 40%-50% in next quarter.
