KPS share price has been around 1.65 since last week...tomorrow sure move a lot or not coz ex dividend date is on monday...plan to buy this evening, hoping that the price will rise exponentially tomorrow, sell on monday morning.
As I have said, the only thing holding back KPS price is the laid-back management. They are not aggressive in pursuing the smart-pipes contracts. I wonder why.
If I run KPS, that would be among my top three priorities.
I'm confused with the ex date rule as well, just wish to make clear that if I bought on 13th, sold on 14th, I will be entitle for the dividend? Thanks for the sharing, newbie here
Butterfly: after ex date the price may go uptrend too again too, so you will earn dividend and plus capital gain, and if you can wait for another month, next dividend is coming. Take note this counter risk is high so don't dumb everything.
ngiam85, don’t be too happy that you thought can sell on 14th with the same price as 13th, the opening price of 14th is the closing of 13th minus the dividend
Ya huatchye, I'm expecting there will be impact on the price and loss while selling back, just wonder how exactly does the ex date work.
btw how does the opening price will impact directly by 13th closing minus dividend? I don't quite get the theory or logic, does it mean even after interim or final dividend declare, next day opening will be yesterday closing minus whatever dividend declared?
Assuming the closing price on 13rd is RM1.64. Then on 14th, the opening price would be 1.64 - 0.33 = RM 1.31, ngiam85. That's why i sell first by earning even very little.
Trade war backfires on US. Dow went down 138.97 points (0.54%); Shanghai Composite Index went up 88.26 points (3.1%) - most of gains came after Trump's 25% tariffs kicked in.
I see, so it will be good to those who start at 1.2x entrance, they will earn this special dividend with lower risk, but still saw a lot collecting around 1.62 - 1.63
