Can not understand the market mentality .When special dividends announced 34 cents, market price of KPS only increased 15 cents. When it is ex-dividend ,the price decreases 34 cents. Ha ha

The news regarding special dividend has been out since Nov 17 2018.

As you can see, after the news out, it pushes the stock upwards already from the low of 1.20. You can say that now, the special dividend has already been priced in to the current stock price. This special dividend is one of the factor that drive this stock uptrend.

1.20 + 0.326 = 1.526

before Calvin's write up I was just holding but today I top up. Why? read up his write up, makes sense. I also join his party. As a state investment there will be some special contract especially if smart pipes are cheaper and better.

If price is maintained at today's closing price of 1.63 till ex special dividend of 0.326 cents on 14 May, adjusted price after ex-dividend is only 1.31 ( fall of 0.22 cents from yesterday's closing price of 1.51).

YOUR MATH IS NOT CORRECT LAH

LOOK AT IT THIS WAY

IF BUY 10 LOTS OR 10,000 SHARES OF KPS AT RM1.63 YOUR COST WOULD BE RM16,300

AND AT 32.6 SEN DIVIDEND YOU WILL GET RM3,260

RM3,260 CAN GET YOU ANOTHER 2,000 SHARES OF KPS AT RM1,630 EACH

THAT MEANS YOU HAVE 12 LOTS OR 12,000 SHARES OF KPS NOW

THEN KPS GOES UP ALL THE WAY TO RM4,000

SO RM4,000 X 12 = RM48,000

THAT IS ALMOST 200% GAIN FROM YOUR INITIAL COST OF RM16,300
