Yes there was a Train Stop planned for Masai Township earlier by Masteel/Kub consortium. A RM1.2 Billion Projects. But it was later scrapped.
Someday in the future as need arises the Iskandar Rail Net Work Plan might be revived. Many investors have bought into Kempas Area as there is a proposal for a Big Train Interchange System there. And from there MRT train lines supposed to branch right into Plentong - Masai - Pasir Gudang Area.
But that plan was before the Current Construction of the Latest Sri Alam to Nusa Damai /Kota Masai Highway. Right now cars & vehicles are still using the 2 lanes traffic through congested Masai Old Town..
Masai Is Densely populated & MRT Will be a necessity someday.
Aiyo .......MRT from Singapore to JB not even finalised yet.........TP 2018 but changed to 2020.......when will MRT move to Pasir Gudang area........another 10 years ........I think is possible lor.......ha ha ha
Today is D Day for Petronas Decision on RM60 Billions' Rapid Project Launch. Will it get the Green Light To Go Ahead or Postpone Again Indefinitely? Since PM Najib has already hinted that RAPID's Oil & Gas Launch Will Be "The Rising Star" To Add Further Impetus to Malaysian Economy we will just have to wait for a positive outcome.
Yesterday while buying mosaic tiles for my renovation work I met a Malay Family from Pengerang. They were also selecting mosaic tiles for their brand new bungalow house in Pengerang. Upon further inquiry they said that the BN Govt had acquired 3 acres of their land for RAPID's Project. In turn they were given 2 acres land plus 2 free bungalows plus Some Cash. They sounded happy with the generosity of the BN Govt.
The Launch of RAPID Will Definitely Turn The Equation For The Whole of Eastern Iskandar. I heard that the Johor Sultan also has vast interest in Penerang & it was the Sultan who first mooted the idea of a 3rd Bridge Link To Singapore.
The 3rd Bridge Link to Changi - Especially The World No. 1 Changi International Airport will tip the Super Boom From Western Iskandar To Eastern Iskandar. It was the Changi Airport Effect That Propelled Tampines Housing Estate In Singapore To Rise Far More than others because Pilots & Air Stewardesses stay there due to its proximity of the Airport. So This Factor Will Also Be In Favour of Eastern Pengerang.

Aiyo..........how far is RAPID project from Masai ha........if too close also not so good lah.....later get polluted if too close lor.........one side promote tourism.& education hub.......the other side promote RAPID .......like contradicting leh.........need to study map location to see the distance apart between these two leh..........ha ha ha
