I am a very small fish only, although I q low to lower, my orders are still too insignificant to push down the price. I do not think my 1.45 will match today.

In fact, I have discounted the future earning when buying at 1.49. I also discount the prospective dividend at 8 cents. I do not expect 11 cents next year, but if it gives, I would be happy. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Nice to meet you all.

what will be the GST impact to retailers? Padini is a good co, but something I wonder why Padini price their product so high. With that level of pricing, customers are considering H&M, Uniqlo, Zara or even Giordano etc?

From consumers point of view, before GST kicks in, will you do a final shopping spree and stock up on non perishable goods like furniture, electrical appliances and clothes? There could be a situation whereby Q1 FY2015 will see a surge in sales revenue (no guarantee for profit margins) before the buying tone down post Apr15. Anyway, lifestyle is very hard to change, you may control your spending post Apr, but how long can you contain yourself? the word CONSUMER comes from the word CONSUME. period. just my 2cents. chillax!

buy for 8 % div which is much higher than any banks offered; good or bad market , the many festive seasons in Malaysia will auger well for Padini where its merchandise are marketable for all social backgrounds and the important thing is that it is affordable ; more so when the economy is not really good . Do not be misled that the other brands can be exempted from GST ; The implementation of GSt has minimal impact on Padini because it is not too pricey , unlike other pricey brands , u r bound to pay a much higher GST because of its higher price....just sharing...

i used to "trust" these analyst report during my initial trading days. but for now, i still read them but mostly feel amused by their writings. we must be aware these IBs also have their own mutual funds. we do not deny the possibility that these "analyst" have been in partnership with fund managers to create fear for funds to lock in a bargain position and like kimchi said, later on will paint a positive picture for fund managers to unload their position.

Padini apparel business has many competitors eg HM, Uniqlo and not to mention many low end like Aeon, Tesco, Giant or even pasar malam. Can Padini survive fighting them?
