@calvintaneng, u hv to take into account d cost of plantation n mill! eg. what is d total cost of 1ton ffb harvested/delivered to d mill n what is d total mill processing cost on 1 ton CPO not to forgo d handling/shipping cost of 1 ton CPO delivered to refinery. Also not to forget d various taxes/cess imposed by govt on CPO!

@calvintaneng, additional profit is d oil extraction rate (OER) of d mill e.g can achieved OER at 19% or 20% or 22% to 24% per ton ffb processed. 1% extra from 1 ton ffb processed is alot of money or profits considering now d high CPO price! Also, u hv d CPO quality based on free fatty acid (FFA) which determined d refinery buying price of crude palm oil to considered. u get a premium price for low FFA oil!

KUALA LUMPUR (March 7): Palm oil production in the world's top producers Indonesia and Malaysia is likely to rise about 3% each this year, but it would not be enough to meet global edible oil demand, leading analyst James Fry said on Monday.

Adverse weather in South America and Canada have curbed supply of soybean oil and rapeseed oil, while there is a lack of availability of sunflower oil due to the Russia's invasion of Ukraine crisis, Fry, chairman of agribusiness consultancy LMC International, told Reuters in an interview on the sidelines of an industry conference in Kuala Lumpur.

"The high (palm oil) prices are going to be around, I fear, for the consumer," he said.
