JAKARTA (April 27): Indonesia widened the scope of its export ban on raw materials for cooking oil to include crude and refined palm oil, among other products, its chief economic minister said on Wednesday, leaving markets in shock over the latest policy reversal.

The announcement flipped the Minister's statement a day earlier, in which he had said the export ban would only cover refined, bleached, and deodorized palm olein.

Labour weighs on planters’ earnings (TheStar 28.4.22)

United Plantations Bhd, which is among the first planters to release its 1Q22 results, saw higher CPO prices as a double-edged sword to its profit.
A sharp 121% increase in the WINDFALL TAX of RM20.4mil REDUCED United Plantations’ net profit by a fifth to RM59.69mil in 1Q22 from RM74.83mil in the same corresponding period in 2021. Revenue, however, increased by 60.87% to RM642.91mil compared with RM399.65mil, due to revenue in the plantation and refinery segments.

On a quarterly basis, the plantation group’s net profit TUMBLED by 61.1% from RM154.15mil in the immediate preceding quarter (4Q21) while revenue jumped by 22.34% from RM525.50mil in 4Q21.

An analyst with a bank-backed brokerage said “IT WILL BE NO SURPRISE if more planters were to announce similar 1Q22 results as United Plantations despite enjoying record high CPO ASP in recent months.”

They were right after all; this stock would have been overbought recently giving the opportunity to the IB with the help of contra/margin players to take profit or cut loss and thus the stock price move against the trend. This is rarely happen to those in the same sectors.

tsh alot plantation in Indonesia. If indon ban export. then tsh will be effected. and analysis from bank say the ban will not be long. once the ban lifted then the volume of export will be high. the problem of oil will be settled immediately.

Personally I quite suka TSH and happy with their indonesia land. But bear in mind east kalimantan very very huge!! Not every land can be prime land. Today can develop here tomorrow can korek another tanah. Don't compared with putrajaya (just a seed compared to watermelon)

Most palm oil stocks are severe undervalue. We never see CPO can rise until @ 6,000-7,000-8,000 tone & more to come, in our life time. TSH has very strong fundamental and TSH will make fantastic profit FY2022-2023. Grab & hold tight TSH as maximum as possible while TSH below $2 is very cheap. Price correction is temporary due to few reasons. Do not be surprise big fund could be buying everyday now. Pls don't listen some negative comments which post by 'perhaps dirty IB agent here to scare weak investor to sell off TSH shares, so tat their big clients can buy cheaper TSH shares.. Common sense thinking -TSH major shareholders Tan family & Mr Lim Director never sold any shares until now because like what bro calvin tan point out - TSH is SUPER VALUE PALM OIL GROWTH STOCK. Let the Market chase TSH to a historical level, cheers to all TSH fans!
