HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE !! Welcome to my 2014 thread, I would like to start the thread with these words; “ You don’t have to be Great to get started, but you have to get started to be Great “ UNQUOTE. Hopefully through this thread we can learn, share and exchange ideas to be able to get started and be Great in 2014 !! I always believe in simplicity in stock market investment whether you are a FA , TA or Both. My aim is always TRY to make Three correct decisions: What to Buy, When to Buy and When to sell. Yet I still make many mistakes days in and days out. Then I realized it was OK to make mistakes at times, the important thing is to make a painful decision when we are wrong. My resolution for 2014 in stock market? I would like to be able to avoid “Indecisiveness and Regret”. Many times I have asked myself in 2013 should I buy, sell or hold? Then realized I should have bought, sold or held. 2013 has been a good year for me and I believe for many of you out there.. Then we must also realize KLSE hit the all time high in 2013. I would like to wish everyone to be successful in 2014 too !! My new format for 2014 is as follows: 1)GHLYSYS-- Av Price=$0.715( Closing=$0.72, P&L=+0.7%), Trailing Stop=$0.665. Risk= -7%. Tp1=$0.79, TP 2=0.845. (Trading Range $0.685 to $0.735). Note : Formed an engulfing Bull 2 days ago unless $0.685 is broken it should be moving upward in the short term. 2)MUHIBAH-- Av Price=$2.35( Closing=$2.28, P&L=-3%), Trailing Stop=$2.23. Risk= -5%. Tp1=$2.48, TP 2=?. (Trading Range $2.26 to $2.48). Note : Rectangle trading range of $2.26 to $2.48. 3)PERISAI-- Av Price=$1.48( Closing=$1.59, P&L= +7.4%), Trailing Stop=$1.50. Risk= 0 %. Tp1=$1.65/$1.70. TP 2=?. (Trading Range $1.53 to $1.66). Note : Breakout from $1.57 yesterday it is expected to break above $1.60 soon. I have raised my Trailing Stop to $1.50 which is higher than the purchase price to protect my capitals. 4)PERDANA-- Av Price=$1.59( Closing=$1.59, P&L= 0%), Trailing Stop=$1.50. Risk= 6%. Tp1=$1.70. TP 2=1.83. (Trading Range $1.54 to $1.66). Note: The steady upward movement has slowed down some consolidation can be expected and accumulation on any weakness for future play. 5)TAS-- Av Price=$1.12 ( Closing=$1.15, P&L= +2.6%), Trailing Stop=$1.04. Risk= 7%. Tp1=$1.26. TP 2=1.34. (Trading Range $1.10 to $1.20). Note : Sideways Movement needs to take out the Doji formed at $1.20.Expects to move higher in near term. 6)TDM-- Av Price=$0.96 ( Closing=$0.95, P&L= -1%), Trailing Stop=$0.905. Risk= 5.6%. Tp1=$1.05. TP 2=?. (Trading Range $0.94-$0.97). Note :Sideways Movement but upward momentum has increased so more rebound can be expected. Av Price-- price i bought in and it will be adjusted if i scale in. Closing -- today closing price. P&L -- Paper Profit and Loss. Trailing Stop-The cut loss or protect profit levels. It will be adjusted accordingly. Risk-The stop loss percentage if the trade moved against me. TP1 &TP2--Target Price. Using this new format if my stock is trading in the trading range I would not update the stocks every day. Happy Trading !!

Sephiroth, both are very Bullish.

L&G—Counter is very Bullish and has an immediate TP of $0.51. If break $0.51 it should move towards the next resistance of $0.55/$0.585. Any consolidation should find immediate support at $0.47/$0.465 with strong support is at $0.46/$0.455. Exit if $0.45 is violated.

MKLAND---Breakout from Rectangle Trading with a Breakaway Gap today with volumes, it has an immediate TP of $0.49/$0.50.Any weakness should find immediate support at $0.41 and Gap support of $0.40/$0.39.Strong support is pegged at $0.38/$0.375.Immediate resistance is at $0.435/$0.46. From the past DNA this counter normally has a Big Pullback after a big upward movement.

I added my GUH today at $1.03/$1.04, should be breaking its previous high of $1.14 to my estimated targets.

Start to lock in profits on MUHIBAH today after it failed to clear $2.50. Luckily I wasn’t caught with the false breakout by scaling in.

Happy Trading..

You are welcome Sephiroth, hopefully the breakaway gap on MKland will take it a much higher level instead of the big pull back like previous time.
I am happy with the GUH performance, I anticipated it should close the gap at $1.04/$1.03 so parked to buy, too bad $1.03 not done all.

MUHIBAH now want to break $2.50 after I sold almost 70% of my shares kah??..

Happy Trading..

matrix, the previous pull back is due to mk's director forced selling pledged securities, if thistime , he did not sell(i think he have sold enough), i think mk will fly sky high

16th January

# For Newbies, to become a successful market player your first goal is to conserve your capital. Believe me this is easy said than done and itself a challenging goal #

1) GUH-- Av Price=$1.06( Closing=$1.08, P&L=+1.9 %), Trailing Stop=$0.975. Risk= -8 %. Tp1=$1.20/$1.25, TP 2=$1.32. (Exp Trading Range $1.03 to $1.14).
NOTE: I bought in more GUH average $1.035 today during its consolidation (Closed gap support of $1.04/$1.003 today, now my average cost reduced to $1.06). It is expected to re test its immediate resistance at $1.14.

Today I re enter PJDEV and TAS as both set new high into uncharted territory lately. One thing I like about counter setting new high they don’t have any overhang to clear and most indicators cannot apply here. So it is back to simple chart reading of Support/Resistance and volume.

1) PJDev-- Av Price=$1.41( Closing=$1.41, P&L=0 %), Trailing Stop=$1.33. Risk=5.6%. Tp1=$1.47, TP 2=1.55 (Exp. Trading Range $1.39 to $1.45).
Note: Counter is Bullish after setting new high today

2) TAS-- Av Price=$1.23( Closing=$1.23, P&L=0 %), Trailing Stop=$1.18. Risk=4 %. Tp1=$1.32, TP 2=1.40 (Exp. Trading Range $1.20 to $1.28 ).
Note: re enter TAS today during its consolidation period. May add if $1.20 holds well, It is expected to re test its previous high of $1.32 and if breaks will test next TP estimated at $1.40.

Today I sold 70% of my Muhibah at AV for $2.49 (In at $2.35, Given me an average of 6% profits).

Happy Trading..

Hi Matrix, can u kindly advise on PBA. Even the price decline but volume did not drop much,1.07 looks a strong support. Am still holding with a price average of 1.10. Am very positive in this counter and looking for a mid term play. Thanks bro.

Yoda88,
PBA—Broke out with volume on 03/01 from the round bottom, which gave an estimated target of $1.26. It hit the high of $1.22 and started its consolidation. The pullback started at 15/01 was quite substantial. Any further consolidation should find support at $1.07 and strong support at $1.04 (Resistance turns support).Exit if $1.04 is violated.

I will be away for a short holidays and back on 25th Jan. Will Try to update my thread whenever I have opportunity near internet.

Happy Trading

Choe, WILLOW—Stage2 of the cycle, very Bullish. Breakout from $0.74 (Inverted hammer formed on 24/12 implies some consolidation, which it did) with volume yesterday signal BUY, now into uncharted territory. Estimated target are TP1=$0.83, TP2=$0.96/$1.00. Congratulation choe, you are on a winner. Do set a Trailing Stop to protect profits.

hi matrixcool, may i know how do you usually set your trailing stop level in order to protect profit? besides, at what level usually you will start profit taking? or solely based on chart? thank you

Choe, how to set a Trailing Stop? Everyone trades differently so I am just sharing my way of setting Trailing Stop. First, I must tell you I am a Position Trader not a long term investor, so my trading style might not agree with your investment strategy.

Let takes Willow as an example how I would trade this counter.
1)It issued a Buy signal on 03/01 when it hit high of $0.725. But the confirmed BUY signal fell to 09/01 when it climbs above $0.725 and subsequent breakout from $0.74, My first Stop Loss would have been set below $0.695 taking about 4% risk.
2)After the Breakout the immediate estimated target is at $0.83 but Willow managed to hit only $0.795 and formed a “Dark cloud” on 13/01 signal downward consolidation movement. During this pullback period I will be observing the volume and increased my Trailing Stop to 1 or 2 bids below $0.74 to protect my capitals.
3)Now Willow consolidation looks like over and find support at $0.74 (which was the breakout level of previous resistance turns support which is also my Trailing Stop).
4)The first sign of weakness is if it breaks below $0.74, expect more downward movement to $0.695.
5)Let”s assumes:
a)it starts to climb up again after this consolidation I will be watching the immediate resistance at $0.795/$0.80. If it can break above, then I will wait for it to hit my target, say at $0.83 and ride on it.
b)It can't break $0.795 then I may start to lock in profits around the resistance level.remember the Dark cloud at $0.785 needs to be taken out for further upward movement.

The above opinion is only my short term trading strategy, for mid term investor your Stop Loss level is if $0.63 is violated and I do not belong to that category as my risk factor is much lower.

Happy Trading..

20th JAN-Weekly Summary

1)GHLYSYS-- Av Price=$0.73 after scale In( Closing=$0.775, P&L=+6.1%), Trailing Stop=$0.74. Risk= 0%. Tp1=$0.79, TP 2=0.845/$0.855, TP3=$0.91 & beyond. (Exp Trading Range $0.74 to $0.80).
Note : After hitting my TP1 of $0.79 GHLSYS failed to test my TP2 at $0.845/$0.855 last week(When to the high of $0.83). 3 balck candles for the past 3 days imply bearish pattern but volume has reduced during this periods indicate consolidation maybe over soon. Chart wise may start to form ‘Inverted H&S” pattern which has Bullish implication with neckline at $0.83.Further consolidation should find support at $0.74. A break above $0.83 complete the ‘Inverted H&S” pattern to TP3 of $0.91 and $1.00.

2)GUH-- AV Price=$1.06 after adding more share at gap support of $1.04/$1.03 (Closing=$1.08, P&L=+1.9%), Trailing Stop=$0.99. Risk= -6.6 %. Tp1=$1.20/$1.25, TP 2=$1.32. (Exp Trading Range $1.05 to $1.14).
Note More sideways consolidation could be expected. The uptrend is very much intact but the upward momentum has slowed down. It needs to break $1.15 (previous Doji high) to test my TP.Any weakness offer opportunity to buy for future play.I have increased my Trailing Stop to $0.99 to reduce my risk to 6.6%.

3)GUNUNG-- Av Price=$0.88( Closing=$0.875, P&L=-0.6 %), Trailing Stop=$0.82. Risk= -6.8%. Tp1=$0.93, TP 2=$0.995. (Exp Trading Range $0.855 to $0.93).
Note :The consolidation looks like over and it is expected to move higher in near term.last week it went to high of $0.92 but failed to clear the symmetrical Triangle. A break above $0.93 with volume confirmed breakout which I may scale in more shares.

4)PERDANA-- Av Price=$1.59( Closing=$1.70, P&L= +7%), Trailing Stop=$1.67. Risk= 0%. Tp1=$1.70. TP 2=1.83. (Exp. Trading Range $1.67 to $1.75).
Note: As suggested, hit my TP1 of $1.70 and hit a new high of $1.75 which has act as immediate Resistance. It is under consolidation and is expected to move higher to my TP2 of $1.83 if $1.67 is not violated. I have raised my Trailing Stop to $1.67 to protect my profits and capitals just incase of any big pullback.

5)PJDEV-- Av Price=$1.41( Closing=$1.43, P&L= +1.4%), Trailing Stop=$1.34. Risk= 5%. Tp1=$1.47.
TP 2=1.55. (Exp. Trading Range $1.38 to $1.44).
NOTE: Re enter after it broke above $1.41, it is expected to clear $1.44 to next resistance of $1.47,counter is very bullish but Price and RSI starts to shows some bearish Divergence so may clear if cant break above $1.47 with volume.

6)TAS-- Av Price=$1.23( Closing=$1.21, P&L= -1.6%), Trailing Stop=$1.13. Risk= 7.5%. Tp1=$1.42.
TP 2=1.50. (Exp. Trading Range $1.18 to $1.27).
NOTE: Re enter during consolidation, it is important TAS to be able to stay above $1.20 to challenge its previous high of $1.32 and beyond.Consolidation is not over yet and it may test its next support of $1.18 if $1.20 failed to hold.Strong support is at $1.13.

7)TDM-- Av Price=$0.96 ( Closing=$0.94, P&L= -2.1 %), Trailing Stop=$0.935. Risk= 2.6%. Tp1=$1.03/$1.05. TP 2=?. (Exp. Trading Range $0.935 to $0.97).
Note :It has formed a Descending Triangle pattern( which has a bearish implication) with neckline at $0.94.it tested the my Stop Loss level of $0.935 but manage to hold. Some rebound is expected but whether the rebound could take it out of the Descending triangle is a big question. This is most likely my first Cut Loss counter in 2014.
Cleared another 15% my MUHIBAH at $2.57 today, giving me Av of 9.4% returns. Another 15% will clear when counter move toward my TP of $2.72.

I am trading at my maximum of 7 stocks so I am not monitoring any stock.

I will be going for a short holiday and will be back by 25th Jan.May not be able to update my posts every day (But I will try) during my holidays.

Thanks bro yoda88, hope youae a good week with your PBA..

Happy trading..

Note:Today I went in ULICORP at $1.06 after the hammer formed yesterday indicates a price reversal or new bottom is formed. It is expected to break out from its downtrend channel to test its immediate resistance at $1.19.

Matrix, was about to suggest to you Silk Holdings for short term trade but it is now already trending up and just broken its resistance price of 0.53 with volume 5 times its average 4 week volume. Immediate support is now at 0.49.

Caution: the company does not have good fundamentals although 2013 profits increased 12% over 2012. Current ratio is 0.63:1.

Catalyst to price increase: Potential winner to a Petronas contract for offshore supply vessels as they just bought vessels large enough for Petronas need.

Happy holidays and happy trading.

Connie, I think your knowledge in TA must have been improved greatly. From previous chats I know you are hunger for TA knowledge.

A good trader trade without anxiety ,anger and if the stock goes against us by a few tricks we should not feel any Fear as we have the plan to cover all that.

Like old saying, “If sex is a pain in the ass, you are doing it all wrong”, in Trading” If you are not having fun trading, you are doing
it all wrong too”
Let”us enjoy our trader's life, it should be fun, joy and most importantly make $$$.

Connie, you are lucky to be doing it right..I am happy for you. Ya, thanks for Scorpion song…I can only listen to it when back to KL this Friday.I am using the local SIM too slow to download..

Twobits—GHLSYS you work out the support by drawing from 20/11/13 at $0.735 ( It retraced from high of $0.915) and that support of $0.735 was broken on 23/12/13 and set a new bottom at $0.665. So for longer term trader they may only sell if support of $0.665 is broken, but my risk is less that that. I should set the Trailing Stop at $0.73( 1 tick below $0.735) but that day I made a mistake instead of $0.73 I put it as $0.74. 2 days ago, it hit exactly at $0.735 and I was shaken out. I dint realize my mistake til yesterday when I re look at GHLSYS chart. Now I re enter at $0.745 for future play.

profitMan, thanks. I know you rade well too, after the breakout PRTASCO should move higher from here.

Pathew- hope your TNLOGIS and HEAVEA bring $$$ to you..

Happy Trading..

twobits, Thanks, yap you are right..Those 2 days the lowest point is $0.74. Normally we set our trailing stop 1 or 2 ticks below $0.74 which is $0.735 or $0.73. I made a mistake and mistake.

Happy Tradng..

23rd Jan

1)GHLYSYS-- Av Price=$0.745( Closing=$0.745, P&L= 0 %), Trailing Stop=$0.70. Risk= 6%. Tp1=$0.79, TP 2=0.83/$0.845. (Exp Trading Range $0.735 to $0.77).
Note : Re enter GHLSYS today at $0.745.The consolidation may be over if $0.735 is not violated.

Today did a quick day trade on PRTASCO after it broke $1.44 with volumes, In $1.46 and out at $1.52. May buy in during any weakness.
I kind of like FITTER, if break $0.825 may try $0.85/$0.865.

Happy Trading..

Matrix...your principle of"What to Buy, When to Buy and When to sell" is just GREAT! Many of us appreciate the ideas and suggestions made by you and I find the preservation of capital to an ordinary invester/trader is extremely important.THANKS

Thanks cloud and ulutrader, as i always said we are here to make $$$ but based on TA alone 90% of traders get burnt more often than making..I used to be like that too til i learnt that we take losses early and try to ride on profits as long as we could.

Happy Trading...
