Genting, Genting Malaysia have biggest upside among KLCI stocks
Analysts believe Genting has the highest upside potential of 34% among its cohort in the KLCI based on the consensus target price of RM6.01 versus its closing price of RM4.49 on Tuesday, followed by Genting Malaysia, whose Tuesday's closing price of RM2.61 trailed consensus target price of RM3.27 by 25%.

Genting was 8.60 previously even with out Taurx issue. Now it can only score just half of it even Taurx seems to have more positive outlook. Then what is going on....

Ask LKT why Genting and Genting Malaysia are moving downward in share price while other blue chips are moving up so fast. Look at YTL, YTL Power, Airport, Vstecs, Sign, IOIP, TENAGA etc. Something is wrong somewhere. After covid 19 most stocks have recovered. This should include Genting and Genting Malaysia. However Genting & GENM are still at during Covid price. Why ???? Even Banking stocks like Maybank, CIMB etc are moving up fast.

Aiya mai so pessimistic la. LKT's sushi knife for minority shareholders is very sharp hence reflected in the stock price (collapsed since Empire RPT). We are dealing with the stock market so we go with the flow of the stock chart.

HLIB says Genting is undervalued, target price RM7.12

KUALA LUMPUR (May 10): Hong Leong Investment Bank (HLIB) Research has a “trading buy” rating on Genting Bhd (KL:GENTING) at RM4.52 with a target price of RM7.12 and said it continues to like Genting for its well-established operational presence across diverse regions, mitigating regulatory and country risks.
In a technical tracker on Friday, the research house said that at its present valuation, Genting is undervalued as it does not sufficiently capture the potential recovery of both Genting Singapore (GENS) and Genting Malaysia Bhd (KL:GENM).
“Moreover, Genting is currently trading at an 8% discount to the assessed value of its stake in GENS.

If we project Q1 result into 4 quarters, GenS can make abt S$1b net profit after tax for 2024 = Rm3.5B. Financial wise, will the thai govt welcome GenS to bid for thai casino licence? Financial aspects aside, the devil is always in the details on what the bidders can offer inside their proposals for thailand integrated casino resort. Hence, someone with even bigger financial muscle is not guaranteed to win the casino licence.

Dont worry too much abt Taurx. 20 years ago i immediately bought immediately huat. 2.5yrs ago i bet showhand immediately bought immediately huat also. I think still got good chance of price appreciation over the next few months hence bought back some shares that i sold off previously. No need for me to do anything now. Just sit back relax n wait for next critical event for price to spike up.
