Excellent write-up and very good clarification to wktwing and Flinstones. Nice to learn about second level thinking in investment.

The case studies of DDM model in Pintaras Jaya, Padini and Perstima and DCF model of Scientex by KC Chong are classic examples of KC's methods in imparting knowledge to newbies and even seasoned investors. Such simple explanation cannot be found in investment textbooks. They are, as 3iii mentioned, Par excellence articles.

Excellent analysis must be put into practice by investing into them which I did. Handsome gains in all. For Padini and Scientex, buy 1, free 1!

I am having these case studies archived for posterity, for my children and grand children's future reference.

Using DCFA and enlarged capital (due to warrants conversion) Tguan is worth 6.00 in mid to long term (2-3 yrs). Need to wait.

Chong: I can tell story of this girlfriend who has been doing Amway for 10 years. She worked hard, made good money. Not too long ago, she invested her hard earn money in the stock. Not exactly sure if it was 2013 or 2014. Last year, she exprsessed her disappointment with her decision to invest in Amway and regretted listening to her peers that Amway was paying good dividends and that whatever dividends she has received, could not cover her losses in her investment.

It is just like a long time PBank or F&N employee decide to buy these shares at 20.00 or 23.00 respectively now bcos they have been giving good dividends. A case of buying wonderful companies at lousy prices. Nothing wrong with dividend approach if they have bought these shares at good valuation prices. Mistake is they bought at the wrong time. That is why dividend knowledge/FVI comes in to save the day.

Most likely, latest QR result is not that good, so some are selling ahead to lock in profits.

Old world stocks like Dlady, HEIM, Carlsbg, Panamy, Uplant, Pbank, BAT, Nestle are good dividend stocks. If they are bought 10 or more years ago, they would ahve made you very rich, not only in terms of dividends but capital appreciation. Increasing Dividends = increasing share prices (Dr Neoh Soon Kean).

Question now is: can we unearth potential stocks to follow above examples. Padini? HaiO? Scientx? Magni? Ptaras? Kmloong? ...?

Or wait for opportunities in the old world stocks?

KC is a terror in FVI. His Padini pick earned me enough to cover his FVI course, 2016 Pick and Foreign pick courses, not to mention with money left over for more teh tarik. I also have his Perstima, Scientx, Hexza, etc, etc. Don't play play with KC.

2017 is the year TTB will get it right, thanks to Uncle Trump.

The issue here is KYY accused KC of selling his Latitude and Lihen when these two shares did not exist in the managed account as shown in the Table above. Must talk facts, not fairy tales.

Making money in the share market is important but integrity (moral) is even more important. As the Chinese saying : Money lost can be recovered but morality (integrity) lost is everything lost.

I think people like CalvinTan. Koon, CPTeh and others have the right to write about stocks but must back up with facts and financial figures. Also, forumers shouldn't just reply 'buy' or 'sell' without reasons.Finally, please be polite if you disagree with someone's opinion. Not calling them 'stupid' or other insulting remarks. At the end of the day, it's up to us to make our final decision whether to buy, sell, hold or not do anything after reading articles or comments in 13investor.

Yes, I am one of those people who has taken up his course and his stock pick but too lazy to do my own research because I am 67 years old but I make good money by his recommendations such as Padini, Perstima, Hexza, Tguan, Scientx, Magni, Apollo. His recent picks on KESM and HLI are moneybaggers.

Yes, I may be lazy to do my homework but at least I can follow his analysis and understand the language of business and finance. If the fundamentals are there, you would not go wrong and even if you are wrong, you won't lose too much because the downside is taken care of.

Lazy me is waiting for KC's new list of stock pick.

Another blow to human interaction. Now we're interfacing with computers. Soon we will be dealing with robots. We'll be dehumanised.

I know of a case of a shareholder who didn't know that he has not received his Topglove dividend payout, so the company wrote to him and paid him by issuing a new dividend warrant. I have never heard of a company like Topglove which is so caring of its shareholders.

I started buying from Sept to Nov '15 at average price of 1.60. Disposed 20k shares for 20k profit. Still keeping 10k shares for investment. Padini is a good example of rising dividends = rising share price.

Now only want to partner. Too little too late.

During the Saturday afternoon talk, TTB said his favourite heroes are Mao Tse Tung and Lee Kuan Yew. So now we understand how he runs icap.

The moral of the story is YOU MUST KNOW what you are buying, not only icap but all types of investments e.g shares, unit trusts, properties, gold, bonds, FDs. insurance, private universities and so on.

I have emailed KCChong's poor icap performance comment (from a recent article re unit trust/fund management) to icap Q&A at AGM so I am waiting for TTB's reply. KC's report is very accurate re poor CAGR return. By answering the questions posed (poor performane since last 5 yrs especially), then we will see what he intends to do next.

Calvin Tan says u re for Johore? In 2013, I remember a family from Johore(?) questioned TTB re why we were still not millionaires in spite of promising we would be soon. TTB gave bad replies to this family.

Regarding dividend, TTB says no problem as long as majority of shareholders want it. But so far no takers.
City of London (15.7%) is the only active one. The other 14% US Fund managers keep quiet only. So do most Malaysian shareholders.

If nothing positive comes out in the AGM which I am attending, I'll sell out gradually, after all my average price is 1.81. Better take care of myself first. I advise others to cut loss if need be.

If I am not mistaken, liquidation is only after fund is listed for 15 years i.e. in 2020! So, how?
